I really hope they change their minds.

The Cobb is such a good option for those in rural areas that do not have a local tuner, plus the other cool features the AP offers.

Seems I will be staying on the stock flash then. I won't get behind a company that requires you to pay such a high amount for their product, and then you can't edit the tune yourself.

But that is just me

I do not understand fuel pressure or flow, mass air levels, mixing of the two, compression settings ETC ETC ETC. I am ok with not being able to tune it myself because this is a real car and not something I am dinking around with in GT5 or Forza. I am happy with the price I paid for my flash and I am getting some wicked features out of it - pays for itself for sure.

I'm with Goku. I could buy an E-Manage Ultimate and PNP harness for a car for less.

I agree with you to a point, and had a hard time deciding on it myself. They only thing I dont like is that you dont get software with it. Tho you can get it tuned anywhere that tunes them. For most people they will have to take it somewhere anyway for tunes since 99.9% people dont have a dyno.

I ran into this with my AEM, while it was nice to be able to do some stuff I still couldnt do a full tune on my own sitting in the garage. The other thing is if you dont have a local tuner you can still do datalogging and email tunes.

So for me with the current group buy 750 isnt terrible for the product just a tad bit high, tho you have a tuner with a lot of capability.

Except emanage ultimate still has a ton of bugs after being out this long plus doesnt play well with most direct injection.

That and what would the emanage give you that the ecutek doesnt?

It was an example. The point is - it's a jacked introductory price :\

Maybe they already have a FR-S for testing thats why they don't need yours. As OP stated they already have a BRZ for testing.

Current ecutek group buy is at 700+shipping, how is that jacked?

I ran an AP on my 2006 OBXT 5MT and the Ecutek is a more powerful tuning interface. I'll be able to report more first-hand in a few days.

Also, keep in mind a big part of the price is the Ecutek-specific OBD2-to-USB cable. If you have a buddy or another local who has one, you can save a bunch just buying the software license and tune. You just can't use the group buy if you go that route.

Thats the whole point I was trying to make, at the group buy price point I think its right at worth it for what its capable of.

Not sure how many people are capable of tuning a car through software and not being able to screw up your car by messing with the ECU.

Have fun with the stock, weak flash then...

How is 30+ whp, torque dip nearly eliminated gain on e85 for under 1k such a bad deal? Most people on here drool over a $1200 catback that gains 3-7whp...

Yep even the 93 octane tune is the best bang for the buck on the market for this car.

And im sure once we see how much people with I/H/E gain with a proper tune it'll be more apparanent
