Flat flange to Donut?

Last year I purchased a full exhaust from FT86, from the headers back. I love the exhaust, quality is great, but I just didn't understand how loud it would be for my taste.

Over this winter I was able to pick up a brand new exhaust from a 2020 BRZ, and I want to keep the front section of the FT86 package. When I had it made, they did it with flat flange (performance connect), which was fine when using the entire FT86 exhaust, but now that I am switching back, is there any EASY way for me to join the front pipe to the stock cat back?

What are my options, and which would you opt for?

Once I get the exhaust off the car, I will post it up in classified.

I would suggest you use the humfrz method.

Drive your car up to the local muffler shop, with your exhaust pieces and tell them what you want done. Take a seat in the waiting room, have a cup of coffee and read an auto magazine. Pay them and leave.

I wouldn’t just bolt the stock catback to a flat flange unless you had a flex pipe like the Perrin exhaust does:

Hate to say it, but you may need to sell the aftermarket front pipe and go with stock if you wanna do it right.

Yeah, really didn't want to do that, I purchased the front/overpipe combo, and plan on doing headers. I think I will likely have to just show up to the muffler shop. Tell them what I want and then they make it happen.

Thanks guys! Figured there might be an easy adapter I can't find yet or something. Cheers

Something like this, but cut the tapered bell end off so that it is flat. Worked for me.

How did you spec the catback? I had a feeling it would be too loud for me as well.

They suggested I buy one after the fujistubo I had on order got discontinued, or they simply couldn't get it as a reasonable cost.

Ended up with a greddy SP

Straight back! Haha

Dual 4" mufflers, non-resonated. You likely remember how loud it was under WOT last summer. My neighbors hate me, and I don't want to be that guy.

I got the BRZ exhaust hoping I could use that, and truly I wouldn't want to have to get another exhaust. Hoping I can take the FT86 off the car from catback. Worst case I could sell the axleback and midpipe separate too.

How do you like the SP?

Yes, I was looking at something like that. I believe that there are a few places that make those. I thought Perrin had something but I can't find it.

Thanks 🙏

Yes, I remember hearing it at autocross it was quite loud.
There's a contact I can connect you with at FT86MS who can probably help you with a OEM flange connect on the front pipe.

I don't have it in my hands yet, ETA likely end of next week.

Would be greatly appreciated! I believe the only person I have from there was who did my exhaust, but I do not recall his name now.
