Driveshaft will not lineup with rear diff during clutch install
Hello! I am having difficulty during the last steps of replacing the clutch and flywheel on my 2014 FRS. I have been following the DIY guide here along with other videos and tutorials.
The car was in neutral when I removed the transmission but I fear it went into gear during some part of the install. I have seen videos where you can pull or push on the shift linkage to get it in and out of gear respectively. The drive shaft will not spin in either case to line up the rear portion to to the differential. Should I install the shift lever and attempt to put it in neutral with the engine turned off? Do I need to fill the trans with gear oil to do this? Or did I mess up royally somewhere and need to start over? Any help is appreciated. Thanks! |

Or release the E brake and rotate a rear wheel.

This seems the obvious solution.
