Actually, it's my dad's which I drive sometimes. My daily driver is an Eclipse GSX which I will likely keep.

I went from an '08 STI to a BRZ and my insurance dropped fairly significantly - I think it worked out to something like $35/month. For what it's worth, when I went from my '02 WRX to my '05 STI, it jumped 50%! I assume that with the STI, you pay a lot extra because despite it being basically a hot-rod Impreza, a huge amount of the car - mechanical and cosmetic - is exclusive to the STI, and relatively expensive. I would assume that the Evo is the same way.
As awesome as the STI is, I don't regret switching to the BRZ at all.
