I would also like a armrest/cover for the cup holder and center storage area - so I think I will make one.
IIRC, armrest is coming as an option.

Go into the car butt first turned perpendicular to the car! :happy0180:

Thanks for the heads-up! I think I read that too... but I have an idea of what I'd like it to be, and I like to mess around and make stuff from time to time. If it doesn't turn out how I want it, I will either modify it to my liking or scrap it and wait for the OE part to come out - maybe even both.

great to hear that im not the only one! the only thing i really plan to change is to add a little matte black vinyl wrapping to some of the silver plastics and to eventually replace the stock head unit with either a nav/dvd unit or a carPC, depending on how im feeling.

and the seats are great. i read someone saying that they "couldnt fit in them" to which im calling BS. Im 5'10" 205lb and theyre very comfortable, even on long drives.

I like the design. I just wish you could get the nicer trim of the Toyota and Subaru with the Scion.

This may sound silly but probably the most exciting interior feature for me is the auto up and down, driver and passenger side windows. They feel and work better than any I've ever tried!

Yeah, ive heard and seen this a lot from different magazines and my own eyes. Everything is fancier and it seems at first glance like your getting more but interior materials feel and look cheap. Little things like lighted ignition were something i kind of grew up expecting, but the whole industry has had to cut costs where they can to sell cars while making them more efficient, particularly within the last 5 years.

I do agree with most everyone in this thread though. I love simplicity. I'm actually one of those weird guys who actually likes traditional non power windows and such (which was actually something i looked for when i bought my Civic) so the straightforward interior appeals to me.

I've experienced this with VW. I've owned a 2003 golf, which had a better quality interior than my 2007 golf, and 2008 gti. My 2012 golf is back to the old interior quality of the mk4 era, with a higher build quality due to being built in Germany. But the quality materials is down slightly. The new Jetta GLI is cheaper than the GTI because of cost savings on interior materials and coatings. It's no big deal, but something new which the VW crowd is getting accustomed to.

The FR-S reminds me of the mk4 golf/gti in its classy simplicity, but I have to say, the mk4 VW had a higher end interior. But I completely understand the difference in this car and the VW. So it's no big deal, to me at least.

I like the interior. Only thing is although I've never had my dog in the car, I can still easily see every strand of his fur that ends up getting inside.

There are a few things I like about the interior and one thing I hate about the interior. I like leather seats a lot. They're easier clean and just look nicer imo. The way the FR-S is, being so low and with bucket seats; they are extremely comfortable. I have back problems from a back injury and I was always in pain after climbing out of my Jaguar or my Mom's Mercedes ad their posh leather seats, but I feel AWESOME coming out of the FR-S. It's almost like the seat is conformed to my body, I love it.

I actually like the build quality of the door interior. I haven't had any of the rattles or pop-outs other people have had. Compared to the Kia Optima I had tried out before the FR-S, Toyota's build quality is great. Even though it's plasticky, it's solidly put together plastic. All of Kia's and Hyundai's cars' plastic seems almost toy-like.

I like the red stitching, but I just wish we could have had an option for interior color schemes or have the red be an option. I wanted to do a black/white color scheme for my Whiteout and I feel like it's going to clash with the red stitching. I literally considered painstakingly bleaching the red stitching to white, but I was quickly talked out of that. xD

The meter cluster is perfect, wouldn't change a thing. Even the carbon fiber look is cool to me because it's not really carbon fiber, it's the same pattern as the front grille of the car. I like little details like those.

The one things I absolutely HATE is the radio, I really wish I had at least gotten the bespoke. Now that's just me because I'm a HUGE tech head(My friends call me Tony Stark lol). I love touch screen satnavs, LED Dash lighting, and all that good stuff I just look around the cabin and love every inch of this car, up until my eyes reach that radio. The rest of the car looks so cool and the radio is just so plain, like they took it from whatever plain cheapo car. :/ I can't wait to rip the damn thing out and put a proper touch screen computer in it's place or something. xD
