FR-S Interior

Hi everyone, im new to posting here, but been lurking for months, wanted to drop in and say hello as a proud owner of a Raven MT FR-S

Anyway, ive been noticing a lot in posts that im reading that people are complaining about the ugly interior and the lack of features and so on. My previous vehicle history was a '09 Chevy Cobalt, '11 Mitsubishi Lancer and currently a '95 S14 as my project car, and honestly, maybe i just havent driven enough different kinds of cars, but i think the FR-S interior is beautiful. In fact, when i saw the first pictures of the interior after it went into production, it was my selling point! I fell in love with the design and decided there that i would do whatever i could to get one. I loved the car from the start, but the interior really set me over the top and made me determined.

Now i guess my question would be is there anyone else out there that actually LIKES the fr-s interior or am i just out of my mind?

I like it. I like that it is simple and has purpose. It's no Audi, but it's not pretending to be either.

Exactly why I like it. I do wish the center console was angled towards the driver though, and the digital clock was more in my line of sight, rather than having to look down at it. But that stuff doesn't bother me too much.

I also really like the interior. It's simple, everything is easily reachable, and the seats are really comfortable. It just feels like the car wraps around you if you know what I mean.

I really like the interior as well. The only thing I really don't like are the temperature control knobs. Other then this, its simple, everything is right where it needs to be, and call me weird, I like the 80's looking clock.

Funny you mention the clock because I actually love it as well. That and the hazard button looks like it really came from 86 lol

The interior is no Audi or Mercedes but I still love it. Everybody that test drove this car could have said No to the interior and not buy it. I don't understand why they drop 25K on it just to vent about it later when they already knew what it was like .

I love the simplicity of it and the looks for the most part. They could have made the HVAC controls a little less cheap feeling, but hey, that's not where my focus is when I'm driving the car

I love the interior. The climate control knobs I'm used to. I had a 2010 Rav4 and a 2009 Corolla XRS with the same outer knobs. I like the look and the feel of a true analog type knob. Personally, I think you're getting a pretty good bang for the buck as standard features. Having the auto button on the passenger side is a bonus. The light around the ignition key is a cool feature that usually only shows up on the higher end models.
Limited room for "stuff" is not a surprise. I like the texturing of the lower dash surfaces, but the cheap plastic is something I've become used to.

The quality seems to have declined over the last decade in this segment and seems to be lacking in a lot of the car industry. The untreated plastic door and trim panels are prone to scratching, and feel cheap.
I got spoiled with my 05 Corolla XRS, a 98 Corolla LE and a 2000 Corolla S in that all the panels had a coating that felt soft and was scratch resistant. Gave it that higher end interior fit and finish we had all grown accustomed to having.
Everyone I've show the car to, loves the interior. The ones that complain are the ones that saw the concept or the higher end electronic controls.
There will always be more complainers in forums...

I get the feeling that some of the dislike may stem from expectations limited by exposure or knowledge of the bigger picture.

I like the interior apart from the crappy base radio. I just like the BRZ interior amenities more which is why I went for it instead. If the GT-86 were offered here in Limited form I would have bought that instead as I like the black accents even better than the BRZ's silver ones.
