Clicking sound above 2k RPM - helpppp

Hey guys, the old girl is being a bit of a pain lately. Car is making clicking sounds like if you put a zip tie on your bicycle wheel. sound is prominent above 2k RPM and frequency goes up as engine rpm goes up. This happens both on and off throttle. The clicking goes away when i put the clutch in, and returns when i back clutch out. At first i thought it was the TOB (last swapped 10k miles ago, similar symptom but was fixed after the swap). So i spent the money and put in a new TOB thinking maybe i just had bad luck (both TOB are revised version), but nope, not only it didn't go away, now its even more noticeable.

Anyone got any insight to what it might be? the TOB that we took out was pretty smooth, didn't have much slop.

Well, my best guess is that the clutch disk or the pressure plate is defective. Has either of those been replaced?

Not this second round. the first time, we did the full clutch job, so everything was replaced a little over 10k miles ago. we also changed the bearing retainer the first go around and inspected when we swapped the TOB the second time.

When you guys replaced it, did you follow proper lubrication guidelines?
Clean thoroughly
Grease well
Wipe off excessive grease
Work TOB back and forth over splines and ensure adequate and even coverage

Following this.

I just heard this sound this morning but mine isn't as loud as OP describes. I had to turn off my radio to hear it. Clutch in, it's gone clutch out can hear it. I thought it was chattering from the new clutch.

I changed my clutch about 900 miles ago. Replaced the OEM Flywheel, SouthBend Stage 2 Daily, Exedy TOB, Verus Fork/Pivot, Motul tranny fluid.

Noise matches engine speed. Comes and goes with application of clutch. Recent clutch work.

Sounds like you're yanking that transmission again.
