I highly doubt this is the issue. I think the real problem is these tires aren't up to your level of autocrossing haha. (Or they need longer to warm the carcass before going full throttle...) If you only track these tires, I would consider Yokohama Advan AD08Rs or Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. If you daily and track the same tire, a couple tires that won't kill you in the rain would be Michelin Pilot Sport 4 or Bridgestone RE003s. But just my opinion.

See the pictures in this thread. Seems like others have noticed these specific tires have a tendency to overheat "more than expected" for any given tire pressure. I do think, from looking at your pics and others that this is the seam between the two halves (it has to be curved to clear the sipes). I would definitely consider talking with the shop that sold them to you; however, it also looks like you have scrubbed them pretty well in just these first 100 miles so they might not have a good solution for you.
The pictures only show splitting along the width of the tread, and not along the circumference like my situation.

My last set of these tires lasted 24k including 4 track days/2 auto Xs and were most likely heat cycled numerous times. Never had a problem with cracking.

I have a track day next Saturday so FML on this one. I will buy another set if need be.

I have another set of wheels/tires for DD but I personally don't mind the noise these tires make if I decide to take them to work. The Auto-X was unlimited laps so I was able to get the tires to a good temp but barely made them squeal.

Notice how the groove is exactly the same distance from each section of tread?
Mold seam made obvious by running tires over pressure and heating up during autox. It will just wear away with no ill effects.

What possible damage can a sticker on the tread do? Think it through.

My problem is thinking it through to the point over thinking lol.

I suppose a tire faces worse things than just a sticker.

Yep. If a sticker can cause perfectly even lines following a specific repeated pattern then we are screwed.

That line is a thin strip of rubber compound that is different from the rest of the tread cap compound. That thin strip is used to ground the vehicle, giving static electricity a path to ground for dissipation. Differing compounds will heat up at different rates causing them to separate.

36 psi is too high. It's probably too high when hot as well. They probably reach over 45 psi when heated up.

You also need more camber, look at your shoulders. Unless you are in a class that prohibits it. Then you might want to flip the tires when they half tread.

That first picture has a small amount of circumferential splitting near the top of the image. Certainly not as bad as your tires, but something to think about.

I agree with Tcoat - likely a combination of too much pressure, ambient temp, track temp, and aggressive cornering. Plus, just because a previous set of tires held up "better" doesn't mean a new set of the same make/model/type will. I would imagine your new set of Federals have a different lot number. Come to think of it, I might check the barcode on the tires out of curiosity to see when the new set was manufactured...

Decades ago many tires did not have grounding strips. Cars would build up static charge as they drove along and shock the occupants when they stood on the ground exiting and entering. Some people installed anti static straps to prevent static charge from building up while driving.

I owned a set of Motomaster AW (my fellow Canadians know this budget tire brand) tires five years ago that did not have grounding strips built into them. I would get a zap each time I closed the door as I was leaving the car after a long drive.
