Some folks want the best. Some folks want the best bang for the buck.
A GT2RS costs 4x more than a base 991 Carrera, for only double the power. Likewise, the GT2RS costs 2x a Turbo S, for "only" 20% more power. Of course, when 91/93 octane is thrown into the mix, you need every bit of efficiency gain you can get... |

That’s quite the stretch of a comparison between steel tubes and super cars, not to mention that the GT2RS has a little bit more going for it than a mere 700hp. But hey, to each their own. I’ll just stand back and wave to the Joneses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

My header is NOT just a bunch of steel tubes. It has flanges. And a V band. And a cat. Huge value!

I am going to guess that Ace is also most expensive since it is the one that gets the nod for dyno specs from everyone. The difference in performance from one similarly configured header to another of same quality wouldn't be massive on well designed products from given suppliers. Most people have some budget for their purchase and headers for the twins range from a couple hundo on Ebay up to (apparently) $1600+ USD. Six years ago I purchased a Revworks UEL which I like and the tiny peak power tradeoff for the UEL is really just sticking to the boxer tradition. I can recognize a UEL rumble coming down the block and it is distinct. A 20 HP increase with EL, I'm very skeptical and again it's the area under the curve, especially the torque dip that counts for most people. My only warning is there are no heat shields on aftermarket headers, and I never had mine heat coated. Last year I wrapped the headers (difficult job) but by nature of the intake position on the HKS V1 intake I am still plagued with high intake temps when in slow traffic. I just never use the car for driving in heavy traffic.

Decatted 17+ header.
Cost of 3 gaskets and a tune if you have a 17+, or, if you don't have a 17+ not alot as I've seen 17+ headers in workshop scrap bins after being replaced by name brand headers with questionable benifits, as well as eBay. Before the nay sayers jump in....do some testing yourself, first hand experience is the only reliable way. What's it gonna cost you? The 17+ header is a well designed bit of kit, strangled by a cat. If not 17+ header, Ace. Opinions may vary
