They replace the coolant, he could've been low and this fixed it!

There are multiple things that could cause a failure, most of which are installer error. Someone local here got a new short block when they used too much sealant and it broke off into the engine somewhere. Don't recall the full details.

I am curious if failures are mostly at Toyota dealers. Maybe inexperience with the boxer.

Or those of us with track cars ahaha. I wouldn't be opposed to a new long block.

Someone in our local FB just posted that their crank pulley bolt backed out on them after the recall.

I really want to hit 200k miles on the stock block, but I wouldn't say no to a new block either.

OR, like they used to do up in your neck of the woods, in the wintertime, someone left a piece of cardboard in front of the radiator -

I'm guilty of using the cardboard with my oil cooler, haha. IT WORKS, until it gets soggy with salt and road grime..

Well, I suggest that the next time you order something on line, to have delivered, pay the extra shipping charge and have the item delivered in one of those heavy duty, reinforced, wax covered cardboard boxes.-
