The Jackson oil cooler is the best one so far. I believe it bolts to the frame, unlike other coolers that bolt to the plastic undershield, and it has a thermostatic switch. It has a 9-Series 15 Row Oil Cooler that has enough overhead for FI applications. Unless you're tight on a budget, I don't see a better option.

thermostatic switch is on nearly ALL oil cooler kits. Full race, skunk 2 these are both 19 row coolers and yes they mount to the frame.lower tray today. you can't put it in the front with force induction due to the intercooler taking up the front bumper

A termostat of 93°c 200°f (Mishimoto item) would be the range for a engine oil cooler in my uneducated opinion.

Mocal (Full race) thermostats are set at 82°c 180°f.

Anything under that and your oil isn't going to get to temp daily driving, unless you are wringing the cars neck all the time, which is highly doubtful on the street.

I couldn't find specs on the thermostat Skunk 2 use.

Disclaimer: my opinions are based of requiring the oil to be at least 90°c for reliability reasons.

Opinions may vary.

They are pretty much near or higher price point than Jackson Racing.

I have been running the Maximal oil cooler on my NA track car in the Northeast US for 4 years (approx 20k road miles and 15k track miles). I haven't seen anything above 235F and that was on a super muggy 98 degree day at Palmer. The kit includes a Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate and a Setrab cooler for $415. High quality parts for less than any other kit. Great customer service too.

If I was NA I would consider this maximal cooler a little bit more. I've been looking more towards the full race because the cooler is a 19 row. Are you running a lot of the hpde events on the East Coast this year? I have a massive list between myself and Friends. I definitely plan to go to at least 6 events this year on the East Coast. Gridlife and the 86 Cup in April are about a 95% positive that I'm going. Maybe I will see you there?

IMO the maximal kit is the best bang for the buck for NA and you don't mind figuring out how to mount it. (It doesn't come with mounting instructions.) Like i said I bought it 4 years ago and recently re-considered the best oil cooler option and bought the Maximal kit again. (A guardrail jumped out at me on the rack.)

I am an instructor with NASA Northeast. I will be at all of those events. My team is planning on going to the Gridlife event at Mid-ohio and I may stray to an 86cup event. Say hi if you see me. I will do the same.

I am currently running the OEM+ kit with the TB install. This year I only plan to 3-5 events and nothing in summer. If I were doing it over and had FI get the dual JR oil/radiator. This was your charge temps don't sky rocket. If your NA any decent air to air cooler should work. I plan to go with the Jackson racing dual radiator as it's only double the cost of a decent air to air cooler.
