Tranny mounts: STI Group N (vs) "others" need some others comparisons..

Ok bit of a story here

So on stock driveshaft with WL insert there is "slightest" whine in first 3 gears not a big deal. Remove the insert all is silent. Of course the tranny can move around, no real notable difference in shifter feel however.

Add into picture an aftermarket shaft Carbon Fiber driveshaft and stock tranny mount and WL insert that faint whine is now very amplified to say least. Carbon or aftermarket shafts being lighter material etc obviously amplifies everything..

A performance vs comfort thing but to be honest I'm debating how much the tranny mounts really do to help other then saying "trannys more stable"?

I tried Kartboy same as whiteline, Perrin was largest NVH thus far so those are all gone as for me I just couldn't handle the high pitch noises. WL being least of those solutions noise wise, tad vibration however like the others.

Here's where I'm at now. ...

I have a new STI Group N tranny mount but before I change the driveshaft again to try CF shaft and lay under car for 30th time would I achieve (no whine) but improved decreased movement with the STI mount??

I know the saying you'll know once you try but I guess so many shaft changes and comparisons of combos, I'm getting sore as hell laying under car on a cold floor lol.

So I'm looking for those that maybe have a aftermarket shaft preferably CF and maybe tried a STI mount or have any other comparisons to share with me.

Just getting bit wore out of the process and appreciate any others experience with this, thanks kindly.

Well since I had to know I installed the STI Group N tranny mount 100% happy best option yet IMO.

No whine, holds great.

Where did you guys buy your mounts? RCE store is very expensive. Vivid is better priced, but I hear good and bad about them. Any other stores that have these in stock with good price?

I have STI motor mounts, before when I was on factory mounts I had the whiteline insert and it did whine in 1st and 3rd (because racecar).

When I took the mounts out of the box I was sceptical. They look exactly (I mean EXACTLY) like OEM, aside from the ST painted on one spot. I went with these because I heard the Cusco mounts introduced way too much NVH for a road car and I trust STI more than Perrin.

I have noticed that power to the wheels seems a bit more direct, there's no noticeable increase in NVH,but I added OFH and Nameless FP/OP at the same time so the car is much louder now. The tranny whine is completely gone though, and that's proof enough for me that they are stiffer. If I was doing it over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

I got mine from JapanParts.com. Paid too much for shipping and customs to get them to Canada but overall no regrets.

I would try the group N's. I loved them on my Impreza.

Sad thing is the BRZ versions are twice as expensive as the Impreza Group N mounts

Im gonna try the Kartboy insert just because of the severe cost difference.

The STI Group N has a lot more beef on the vertical tabs vs stock actually

Here's a picture.

I just received my engine and trans mounts from JapanParts today. Took exactly 10 days from placing the order to my door. $462, out of which $90 was shipping.
