I'm seriously working on something. I while it would help to have the engine if there is any engineering data available for the surrounding sheet metal of the engine bay or even the air box that would be helpful. I apologize if I disrupted anything in this discussion.

We made a few variations to the intake manifold; with none of them performing better than factory throughout the power band. We either gained power in the mid-range and lost up top; or lost mid-range and gained up top. I personally believe the OEM manifold is designed quite well at this point and the longer I stared at it; the more it made sense why we could not improve upon it throughout the rev range.
Thanks, Eric |

We are not the first to attempt an intake manifold, and I know a few have tried after us. She is not simple. I'm not convinced that ITBs will generate a large improvement in the powerband either yet. We even ran the OE manifold and our manifolds on a flow bench with various bell horns, runner lengths, and overall designs trying to figure out where our unit was not flowing as well with confusing results to say the least. I hope someone figures out an improved unit in the end though. I'd like to learn where we went wrong for future projects. Again, my hats off to the OE engineers on this one. Thanks, Eric |

VerusEric: my guess on where it went wrong:
1) it wasn't bottleneck like eg. filter part, where improvements are noticeable everywhere 2) it might have needed according ecu tune changes (like some long tube headers eg. ace's, that performed bad with stock & canned stage2 tunes for other headers) 3) maybe it's not just about shape, but also different inner surface finish? |

The JUN IM made more power but it was above the oem valve train tolerance. So one company kinda did it??
