Magic eraser is great on scuffs. Just use a little water and it comes right off

It seems I have a stalker who drives a Gti, but really wants a Twin.

P.S. the spot on the clear bra didn't come off.

Let my dad scratch it off with a terry cloth towel.

Yeah if you want swirl marks. Look at it on any color besides white in decent lighting...

Look, I understand you're just giving your friend shit - and that's cool on local forums. But this is an FRS/BRZ forum, trolly posts about other cars don't have a place here.

P.S. I actually like GTIs a lot - so don't go labeling me a hater, just a friendly notice here...

A coworker put a nice dent in my door today opening the passenger door of a coworker's coupe into my door. She's agreed to pay for repairs so it's not all bad. It's going to cost $150-$175 to pull the dent and buff away the mark the other guy's door left. The worst part is the wait until next week to have it repaired.

The piece was about 24" square. I did a jink to the left and thought I missed it. Well today I went to the store and coming out the sun was shining directly on the right side of the car and I saw a small smudge along the lower part of the passenger door.

Looking closer I realized it must have been the card board piece ever so slightly brushing against the paint on the door. It also left a small line/scuff along the quarter panel in front of the right rear tire.

Bummer...went home and wiped it all down with water and took some Meguiar's Cleaner Wax-red bottle to it. Removed most of it. Now I can only see it in direct light and only if you look right at it. If I never showed it to anyone they probably would never notice. It is in the surface of the clear coat so I'm sure a detailing pro could remove the rest of it.

Years ago this would have really bugged me but I guess with age (57) comes maturity and now I realize its only a car.
On my vehicle when I had a good size scuff in my clear coat I used a product called Turtle Wax Rubbing Compound (Liquid Stuff) not the paste wax. It worked perfect, it removed the scuff from my clear coat and no matter what angle the sun hits my hood I can never tell where the scuff was. It works surprisingly amazing and it only costs like $13 a bottle.

Goodluck!

No problem, had to create an account to give you the tip lol. Just don't rub in circles, move in a back and forth motion. Its quite amazing it has pretty simple instructions on the rear of the bottle.

Let me know how it works out for you, hate to see that happen to brand new paint.

yup, just clean it up and polish that out after. sorry but I would rather have swirl marks than a paint scuff and I would rather have to clean that up than pay anyone to remove something so petty.

... you can just use a mild polish to remove paint scuffs too and it won't leave further swirls...
