Just for reference, I was one of the first to pick up a Monogram and the build date on the car is 01/14. Hopefully all the Monograms are outside the recall range. |

That site is only good for the Takata seatbelt recall.
None of the sites listed would recognize my VIN. Maybe that's a good thing. ![]() EDIT: Well looks like I'm just out of range. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131169 DBA-ZC 6 "BRZ" ZC 6-002002 to ZC 6-010144 March 9, 2012 to July 2, 2013 7,803 The one model that goes to September 2013 is the SJ Forester. |

OH ya I forgot to add that Subaru makes it a bit more difficult. You have to use the My Subaru app listed on the page I linked.

Same; none of the sites listed recognized my VIN.
I'll keep my fingers crossed on this one; I have a June 2012 build date, but my last 6 digits of my VIN are 602685, which appears to fall outside of the specified VIN range... Time will tell.

My son's 2013 FR-S is affected. Purchased in June 2013. Currently 26,500 miles on it. It has never had an issue of any kind and has only had oil changes and the original set of tires recently replaced. We put RCE Yellows, a TRD air filter and a TRD exhaust on it. No other mods.
He will probably have the work done and have them put in new spark plugs while they are at it just to forestall having to do that himself at some point in the future.

I had a 2013 FR-S that I bought in June 2012 (car was manufactured in April 2012) when they first arrived in the US. Kept it until November 2016 when it had a valve spring break on the passenger side head, dropping a valve and seizing the engine while I was in 5 mph stop and go traffic (lucky).
Car was bone stock its entire life (imagine that) and had about 35k miles on it at the time of failure. I took it to HPDEs 4 times but otherwise it was my DD and treated well, never even close to being abused. Engine sounded fine the entire time I had it. There were no odd noises leading up to the valve spring failure. It simply broke and the engine stalled, unable to be restarted of course. My Toyota dealer initially did not want to cover the repair under warranty, saying that I had tracked the car based on the wear patterns on my Michelin PSS tires. After some back and forth and me showing them dashcam video that the car failed in stop and go traffic, they decided to cover it under warranty. They were unsurprisingly inexperienced with boxer engines and it took them several weeks to get the install of the new head correct. If it had not been under warranty, the repair would've been ~$10k. I feel for you FR-S guys that are gonna have to have this repaired by a Toyota dealer. |

Abandon it. They are not going to replace whole engines for some springs that could potentially break. This is not their first nor will it be their last recall and replacing engines has never been in the cards before.
