Maybe I'm wrong but I read differently. He may not have said it exactly but I think he gets it.

I also don't think the wang was made specifically for the car. In order to get the fasteners tight without deforming the skin, spacers would have to be accurately designed and installed between skin and structure. That would be quite a project to get right.

Jesus can we stop being hypercritical here? I'm sure we've all done stupid shit like this at one point or another. I know I have.

OP came here for advice on how to fix it, not to hear how badly he fucked up from 27 different people, he knows he fucked up.

OP, good luck and let us know what route you're taking and how your attempts at fixing it go.
My suggestion is to take the trunk lid off and place it upside down, pour 16lb structural foam in the structural channels that you cut the big holes in. With any luck that fixes it.

I do grasp that, even if I didn't word it correctly. And no, it did not come with instructions; only a part list.

Sounds like a good place to start. I wasn't previously aware of structural foam before this thread. I was gonna fabricate some metal plates but this seems easier

Is that cavity open to the license plate area? May want to seal some of that off.

I hadn't heard about that stuff either. Please let us know how it works.

I would not use foam! Foam is great for holding moisture and starting corrosion.

Just clean the cut out area up and sandblast everything get some epoxy and micro balloons and fill it up. Once that has set drill new holes.

I beleive you are in the DFW area so if you need any help just PM me.

An epoxy mixed with fiberglass microballoons will work well for sure!

I am! I'm in Farmer's Branch. Sorry, been in a weird funk the past few weeks and haven't checked back. I'm down to try
