[QUOTE=PhyrraM;3084747]I love all the pure mechanical sounds this car makes. Crickets and sewing machine included. It just reinforces what this car is intended to be and why I chose it over other cars.
Yes, just like my '99 Aprilia RSV, and my '17 860...love all the noises, makes you one with the machine, versus sitting on a couch, which some cars ought to be compared to, LOL.

So, with possibly getting the fuel pump replaced under warranty ( with in 5 yrs of new) , does this guarantee the cricket noise to go away ?
No. There were (IIRC) about four versions of the pump done to try to silence the crickets. It was 50-50 if it worked.

Mine are now gone (for now), running E90-ish.

If you can hear your crickets, your exhaust clearly isn't loud enough.

Loud pipes drown crickets, I guess. I thought it had something to do with a certain inadequacy.

There was a Gallardo cruising around PDX a while ago. As a gearhead, it took me a little longer than everyone else to get tired of his stupid-loud exhaust. It's been a while since stupid-loud was a requirement for performance in a street car.

Hell, I wish my hearing was good enough to hear the damn crickets. My chronic tinnitus masks it. I can't hear an old fashion telephone bell. I also have trouble hearing my wife which is a blessing in some circumstances.

The crickets don't impact performance. Move on.

Hearing aids can help with tinnitus that bad.

Really!

The little chirping birds that I usually have in my left ear just chime in with the crickets … I just pay neither of them any mind.

But the chirping birds seem like it might affect performance.

I've just contracted the crickets at 12700 miles. Seems odd that it started right after the car sat for a few days. Coincidence?
Also, I run 93 with up to 10% ethanol. Mostly from costco.
