do you think any or all of these will be a possibility for the 2014 model? i know i saw a post on here about an improved intake system for the next model, so it's got me thinking. i plan on at least waiting till the 2014's are anounced before i buy.
Push button start: Release series based upon what they did with the Tc

HID headlights: Sadly, I don't think this will make it as an option until the MMC (mid model change) or maybe a release series, but we'll see.

Increase in horsepower: Not going to happen in 2014. Small chance in the MMC.

Torque dip issue: They might do something to address this for next year, but I would also expect a MMC here.

Lighter curb weight: Not going to happen.

As far as what will be available next year, I believe there is an accessory sheet listing when things are supposed to come out for the car.

I would like an option for HID's and since Scion is such a customizable brand I wish they would do like they did with the 1st gen XB and offer different tail light options. Red tails anyone?
"customizable" brand, HA! I'm fighting with my local dealer to get Toyota parts for an FR-S let alone anything after market to count as customizable. Not to mention a single trim level with no options? Customizable lol They don't know the meaning of the word.

They left them out on purpose, to keep it closer to a purist driver's car. It was said in an interview a long while back.

With ya there, only I'm not going the BRZ route.

Also it took 7 release series to put the little push start to the tC. The new R.S 8 tC does not have it but instead has paddle shifters on the automatic so for R.S Fr-S you can probably bet on a different 5axis kit and some random color scheme, my guess is yellow or some blue with suspension and a shift knob and whatever other little tid bits they usually do.
Then how do you explain the Toyota 86 everywhere else in the world? It's only North America that's getting stuck with the Scion base model only (Scion does not exist outside of N.A.). The GT 86 Limited is actually better equipped than the BRZ Limited from what I've heard. Everywhere else, the Toyota fills all ranges as does the BRZ, only N.A. is getting the shaft, which is

RS Series hopefully - that's what I'm waiting for. If it doesn't come in 2014 then I'll decide on Subaru or Scion at that point.

Its a new car.... what do you expect? There probably is not a lot of in stock parts for this car yet and I wouldnt expect there to be for at least a couple of more months.

That's the thing, here in NA we got the car as a Scion which is a mono-spec brand, if it were branded as a Toyota here I'm sure it would have gotten different trim levels as well. The Toyota 86 GTS is almost the exact equivalent to the BRZ limited here with respect to Subaru and Toyota interior and exterior differences. The Scion Fr-S has a little bit more standard equipment, otherwise its almost equivalent to the 86 GT model.

That's the AUS spec, that site also lacks description and images of the AUS 86 GT to accurately compare. The Scion actually has more in common with the G 86 from Japan, with a few options. Someone on this site said about 80% G 86, 20% GT 86, I'd agree with that assessment.

G 86: http://toyota.jp/86/001_p_001/grade/grade3/index.html
GT 86: http://toyota.jp/86/001_p_001/grade/grade2/index.html

My main complaint here is that we, in N.A., are not being given the option of going with the higher spec. We're getting screwed thanks to Scion.

Gotcha. And yes I agree that's why I got a BRZ

Technically the BRZ is getting screwed over here too, not as bad as the Scion, but missing out on some things. The Limited is very, very close though. I won't be touching it though, my brand loyalty and the only Subaru dealership in a 2 hour driving radius has more fraud charges than a rechargeable battery.

Although I know that is true, as I've seen the posts, I still find it hard to believe. I've been fighting with my dealership for a month just to get part numbers and prices. I did all the work of finding out what parts I need, they just have to give me the numbers and they can't even do that or at least haven't been able to yet.

Burnout? In this car? hahahaha, Jay Leno[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUIo_UMcrVE"][/ame] couldn't even get this car to do a burn out ([ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUIo_UMcrVE"]Jay Leno's Garage: 2013 Scion FR-S- YouTube[/ame] Check out the 13min mark for the attempt) Please stop kidding yourself, this is not a muscle car.

If you're happy accepting a sub-par vehicle, go ahead. I for one will wait till I see something that matches up to Toyota quality of the day, not something that matches up to my 10 year old Toyota. Don't get me wrong, it's a great car however, in Scion form it's lacking.

Let's be realistic here. Scion isn't exactly doing that well these days. Bringing it here as a Toyota would have been a maaajor blow to Scion. Trying to keep the brand going.
