I've only ever seen cars get heavier with increasing model years, unless a redesign is done and a new generation comes out. My guess would be more power in 2015 or 2016.

Add steering controls to the list. Unacceptable for a $25k car not to have them

I enjoy the fact I don't have to deal with buttons on my steering wheel and I think you'll find many others that feel the same, that doesn't mean having them is wrong. I just think it's a design decision in the end.

-edit, units with a touchscreen stereo might benefit. (think that also goes along with BoostinIX's post though as the limited BRZ is equipped with the nav)
So long as we aren't all forced to go one way or the other if buttons are introduced it'll be alright.

I could see the Limited BRZ get them.

The Release Series = PBS (Peanut Butter Sandwich), Body Kit, Lowering Springs, Maybe Sway Bars? Seem reasonable?

As far as what will be available next year, I believe there is an accessory sheet listing when things are supposed to come out for the car.

I would like an option for HID's and since Scion is such a customizable brand I wish they would do like they did with the 1st gen XB and offer different tail light options. Red tails anyone?

New intake manifold to cure the dip for 2014
Center console offer or included

A new intake and exhaust may show up as a special order model.

For the BRZ it will be the STI for Scion, don't know the name of that upgraded model

Companies do this on purpose to add them as "upgrades" later on.

I've been use to it for the past 5 years with my xB. I would not be happy driving without them, plus its much safer to keep both hands on the wheel and looking straight than fumbling with stereo buttons and looking away.

Maybe they'll add them as an option for those who like me, really like them.

I like the idea of Scion keeping it simple and affordable without increasing the cost with things that are inconsequential such as HID's, PBS, Heated seats, etc.

However, I absolutely agree that Scion should have these options AVAILABLE to add-on at time of purchase. Dealers make money on add-ons and from a sales viewpoint it's illogical to release the car without valuable add-ons (the rear bumper "applique" is NOT a valuable add-on).

I'm going to have the dealership tint my windows but if the option was available to me I would have paid extra to have heated seats and HID's.

Also, the argument of "just get the BRZ" isn't going to fly. I don't like front bumper of the BRZ and the cost-benefit-analysis doesn't pan out to buy a BRZ (for the options) then spend the extra money to buy a FRS front bumper and have it paint matched.

Now, if Subaru gave me an options of front bumpers at no extra charge... I'd have visited a Subby dealership instead... maybe. After all, a lot of them are marking them up and that's a turn-off.

While safer to keep both hands on the wheel is true. For as long as I've been driving I haven't really had to fumble with buttons on a stereo much less look away to make adjustments needed while driving (the same goes with HVAC controls). I think as drivers we have to worry more about people texting than fumbling with a stereo.

I think it'd be great if they did add it as an option, so long as it is just that: an option. It's been far too long for a car to be released and not automatically fitted with buttons to the wheel.

I highly doubt any of these features will be added on, especially if the BRZ will stick around. There has to be some difference between the two cars, I see it set up as Fr-S is base, BRZ premium is a higher trim, and BRZ limited is the highest trim. Also it took 7 release series to put the little push start to the tC. The new R.S 8 tC does not have it but instead has paddle shifters on the automatic so for R.S Fr-S you can probably bet on a different 5axis kit and some random color scheme, my guess is yellow or some blue with suspension and a shift knob and whatever other little tid bits they usually do.

I'm sure the accessories like HID's, PBS, and others will be offered as dealer installed add , but they won't re-tune the engine or change the body to be lighter. The torque dip in mid range is the sacrifice you make to have all the power at 7000 rpm. And do you really think the could improve on 100hp per liter?

This is the car that will be offered for several years to come. You want it lighter, take out the spare tire, or get a fiberglass rear window. Want more HP add a turbo, or supercharger. They have done all the hard work to make this a gear sports car.

Keep in mind it's $25k. If you want a lighter, higher horsepower car there is always a Lotus!
