I doubt the tune has anything to do with the issues u are seeing. I would flash to stock and wait for it to come back then go see ur dealer. If ur not hearing any crazy noises it's probably all electrical and u won't break anything that isn't allready broken. What kinda car wash are u going through, the type that drags ur car through by the wheels.

This actually happened to me some time ago (sometime during the summer of 2013 now that I think about it).

I was driving home from work and both the Slip and ABS lights came on while slowing down for a red light. There was no one in front of me and it wasn't a panic stop or anything like that it was just normal braking. I turned the car off and back on while sitting at the light and they never came back on again so I forgot about it until I just saw this thread.

This happened at about 14,000 miles give or take and I'm at about 39,500 miles now, so I've put more than 20,000 miles on my car without this issue coming back.

In terms of taking it to the dealer, I would recommend flashing it back to stock even if you have to drive the car for a few days for the issue to come back. Depending on the dealership, they are just waiting for an opportunity to deny warranty coverage and a modified ECU is the perfect catchall excuse. Even if they can't prove anything it would certainly delay getting repairs done and cause plenty of aggravation you don't need.

Some dealers are mod friendly but I wouldn't take the chance unless I knew for sure.

Nope it's not the car washes that drag the car. I just flashed the car back to stock and the lights disappeared. I will still go to the dealer and tell them to check the sensors and wiring. I beleive the water from the car wash and the cold might have something to do with it. Makes me think that when there is water, the wiring might have an issue. Once I have parked it out for awhile, and all the moisture is gone by the cold, the lights don't come on

I agree the water makes it through the connector seal, wiring damage or the sensor itself.

This has been happening on and off for the last couple of months. First time after the car was buried up to the wheels in snow. Lights would go out then randomly come on. Just last night we had a good rain and when I started the car this morning lo and behold the ABS and slip lights were on! I'm leaning towards the connection between the sensor and control unit as it seems to occur when water has been present. Frustrating to say the least!

I wouldn't worry too much. I think this happens when the car gets confused about the readings it's receiving. At worst, it's a Wheel Speed Sensor going bad. It's happened to me a handful of times, but only after hooning around (typically in the snow.) It seems like the logic of the car is set up so that, at a certain point, it decides that maybe you aren't ACTUALLY hooning, and that it's actually got a bad speed sensor. At that point, it goes into "safe mode" until you restart the car. It doesn't have any long-lasting effects.

If you're getting it during regular driving, it's probably the exact same thing - a weird reading - but since you are NOT hooning in that case, it might actually BE a bad speed sensor, or some other sensor or wire.

Point it, you car isn't going to blow up or anything.

There is another thread explaining this somewhere but it's just the break switch that needs to be replaced.

Have had this happen before as well.. at first on and off, got worse and worse over time. Changed the break switch, worked fine for about 6 months and now starting to happen again.. starting to think there is some sort of underlying issue here.

What is described in this thread is the car going into ice mode. There are certain circumstances that cause it but basically wheel slip at certain wheel speeds engages it and it doesn't shut off until the car has been shut off and cooled down. Then the next time you start it, the lights will remain on until you drive a bit and the car detects that it hasn't lost traction, then the mode will shut off and the car will return to normal.

Had a bit of a freak out when it happened to me just last month when trying to go up my street that hadn't been plowed yet and was spinning tires the whole way but no engine codes when I stopped. Car seemed to be running normally, just no TC. Nothing I could have done that day so I parked it and was going to take it into the dealership the next day. On the way, the lights went off. I asked about it anyway and that's when they told me about the ice mode.

I'm not sure this is right. I have never had lights linger after ice mode, and it has never required a restart.

It may not require a restart but the dealership suggested if it came back to shut down, let it cool off a bit and restart then drive around normally and the lights should go out as long as you have normal traction again which was exactly what happened to me.

Yeah, that sounds like something different. Probably related, but not specifically ice mode. Or maybe a more dramatic representation, I never stayed in ice mode for long (pedal pumping or just letting the car eventually decide it has traction). I don't doubt the solution, but it may be closer to the OP issue.

Weird stuff regardless, and super frustrating when it happens.
