What you did was buy a non vented rear rotor. The base model in some countries have a solid rear rotor with different (narrower) rear calipers. Your pad wore down to the point where it was no longer contained. Stock width rotors will hold a baking plate in place, I've worn them down to nothing on track and never had an issue.
Let me guess, DBA? Edit: looks more like stoptech slots |

Your edit is correct. They are stoptech slotted. So that said should I be concerned the rotors that I have on there will do the same thing to the new set of pads? As I stated all the pads on there were still at 3/4" life so for that to happen with that much pad life I was really confused. Now if they were mm from the squeakers or down to bare metal I could see what your saying being something to get worried about. |

Yes if the overall width is incorrect.
However, you can quickly and easily go to any auto parts store, get a pair of OEM rotors for 40-60 USD each and put them on and be done with it. |

Ones I have are 126.47031SR They are a Vented disc. That said we all know that when some companies say direct OEM replacement that can be not always the case. |

We might have a winner. Rotors are solid in the rear. 9.5mm is the average thickness.

And fire your friend who did the brake work for not realizing he was replacing a vented rotor with a solid one.
