I see draw stiffeners and flexible v-bars mentioned. That's a positive start. Other key stuff would be the stiffened rear subframe and beefier rear axles. Hell, just go to DSOmegaX's build thread. Anything short of that is "watered down."

People the real reason there are no power upgrades etc are the base of this car.

This will piss ppl off but nasioc, iclub, etc they are embarassed to be associated with the brz. It's been the ultimate hyper fanboi car and probably the most so bought by first time buyers and flat out newbs.

The huge jdm d baggery and people spending 700 dollars to buy badges and fins from japan, for there always seeming to be some tool with a brand new twin asking about swapping his bumper/headlights etc. Because of the idiot willig to spend 2,000 bucks to make his frs into a gt86.

You are to blame. If the car was marketed to a more mature crowd that thinks hey do I want to spend 4 grand to look cooler?

I blame the fanbois, the same reason many subaru heads are embarassed at thr level of fanboi honda civic you have turned the brand into.

Why develop the car when you can get all the fools to rush in for their pink badges and fins and sideskirts.

To me this is a serious problem because the car is hard for picks ips and suvs to see. It's dangerous with such little power for me.

Subaru goes for hype because they have no tools to increase brz sales. Rip brz.

The new golf r while more expensive is so much more car. There is a reason websites like nasioc, iclub and iwsti have so many fewer users these days and also why the people who owned 6-8 subarus are no longer buying them.

These lack of development is literally the same tactics used by ford and gm during late 70's to early 90's. They maybe cheap but subaru is sacrificng the principles that built them. Sad.

Sti has had the same block for it's 14th year in a row and it may squeeze 10hp. I'd be embarassed to even mention this.

Brz has no updates besides the faulty shocks they have used.

Outback still has no turbo model.

Subaru paints are ugly awful and boring for the 9th? Year in a row.

I can say I have seen this brand run its course when it comes to performance.

Honestly I want a better car anyways. Current car is to me at an unacceptable quality level for having only 22k on it. To me it feels like longevity has been abandoned by subaru.

Now people just spew stupidity about mpg instead
Of caring if their engine can make 120k.

This is the begining of the end
Damn, isn't it a little early to be this salty? I stopped paying attention after you started praising the Golf R. Do yourself a favor and buy a base model Audi and dont look back.

The thicker driveshaft required a re-registration of the car in Japan. Not a simple change comparing to the other changes.

Idk, but it doesn't mention the recaros even though the STI portion does. I'm guessing that means it's skipping them.

What a shame, the STI recaro with the red accent is a beauty and would have been a nice addition.

Curious to see if dealerships will move 17 PP for cheaper so they can make room for 18s.

People complaining about not being able to handle highway traffic with a low-powered car need to go back to the basics of driving, or buy an automatic that will downshift for you, since you clearly don't know how to on your own.

Japan refers to the axles as the driveshaft. Together with the rear control arms, rear toe arms, and rear trailing arms as well as the rear subframe, these were some of the items that were standard on the 2013 tS in Japan. The 2015 tS actually no longer included the rear suspension components if I remember correctly as it was presented as more of a "street" version. Beyond that, the exhaust, upgraded bushings and mounts, etc. we're actually optional extras on that car.

As the US ver. should be mono spec and there didn't seem to be any of this mentioned in the press (waiting for more info though) it doesn't look like those parts are coming. Keep in mind though that a lot of those parts were intended for the zenki car, whereas there wasn't as much developed for the zenki.

I was hoping for the whole lot of it, of course. Doing the math on what it would cost to do the everything involved versus just buying it from the factory was why I was excited about this version. Plus gaining the shorter final drive and the brembos.

Subaru goes for hype because they have no tools to increase brz sales. Rip brz. Other companies don't hype cars? You live in a cave?

The new golf r while more expensive is so much more car. There is a reason websites like nasioc, iclub and iwsti have so many fewer users these days and also why the people who owned 6-8 subarus are no longer buying them. Have some numbers to prove this statement?

These lack of development is literally the same tactics used by ford and gm during late 70's to early 90's. They maybe cheap but subaru is sacrificng the principles that built them. Sad. In the last few years they have developed three new engines and two ground up new platforms. Did you not hear that news?

Sti has had the same block for it's 14th year in a row and it may squeeze 10hp. I'd be embarassed to even mention this. If it works why change it? It doesn't have enough HP? New one coming out next year if you hadn't heard.

Brz has no updates besides the faulty shocks they have used. What "faulty shocks"?

Outback still has no turbo model. Everything needs turbo?

Subaru paints are ugly awful and boring for the 9th? Year in a row. As opposed to that lovely VW white, grey and black selection?

I can say I have seen this brand run its course when it comes to performance. Again have you not heard about what is coming?

Honestly I want a better car anyways. Current car is to me at an unacceptable quality level for having only 22k on it. To me it feels like longevity has been abandoned by subaru. You want $80K quality for a $25K price tag? Have you looked over a 17 Impreza? People are already slamming it because Subaru is going upscale and leaving the past behind.

Now people just spew stupidity about mpg instead
Of caring if their engine can make 120k. World governments set the required milage now. Nothing says the majority of the Subaru engines wont double or triple 120K (sort of a random nuber to throw out there)

This is the begining of the end They are ushering in a whole new era of improved quality and performance so yes it is the beginning of the end of the old cheapass Subie that so many loved.

Hmmmm interesting points.
