Opinions on new alignment/help with turning issue
Hello. I jsut got a new alignment on my 2013 Scion Fr-S. I have Brand new rear tires and soon to be new front tires. My tires are Michelin PILOT SPORT AS3+ B9CR02RX-0817 -- 225/40ZR18, and my rims are 18inch enkei rims. I was having problems before when it came to certain left hand turns at around 40 degree apprx 60mph. I was hoping this alignment would fix it but it did not. WHenever I would make a turn at those measurements my traction control comes on and almost causes me to wreck bc it locks up my car. So since I am out of ideas I was hoping someone could tell me if this is normal for this car to do that driving on an every road, and i am just expecting too much. Below is my alignment specs. Thanks guys lmk what u think of the alignment specs

Are you slipping when turning that fast? How about turning off traction control

It doesnt really feeling like I am slipping. Its like Once i get halfway through the turn the car just cuts that shit on and like i said it can cause me to wreck bc it locks up the breaks or the tires...I would turn it off my i am scared i would crash or something lol. Im just curious as to if the car should be able to handle that. Mine is lowered 1.5inches so that should help as well

Most likely driver skill not high enough or speed too high. Try smoother inputs or slowing down.
It could also be that brand new tires need to be broken in. |

This was happening before the new tires when i had ones broken in. EIther the car is not made for it, something is wrong. I am not a professional driver by no means but I race at VIR where I am at and know how to properly handle a car, respectively.

In the middle of the turn is where the most g's are likely to happen. If you know how to properly handle a car, why do you even have traction control on? ![]() Try sport mode or turning traction control off. Do the same turn multiple of times with it on and off. If you "know how to properly handle a car" and do it multiple times, I don't see why it would be unsafe. What suspension are you on? This car is known to hit bump stops deep into a turn which could unsettle it. Springs lower than 1inch or have soft rates have this problem. Do you turn traction control off at VIR? |

"40 degrees at 60mph"? This is on a track right?
Of course the traction control kicks in since you are starting to drift at that angle and speed. Reduce the angle or reduce the speed.

The car with its OEM suspension and wheels should not be "scary" when the nannies help out ..... yep, kind of a "whoa - what was that" ..... but not scary, when driven on average roads. Like eluded to above, I would recommend that you either engage the nannies and learn how to work with them ....... OR, turn them off and learn how to drive the car all by yourself........ ![]() humfrz |

Where would you make a 40 degree turn at 60mph on public roads? A highway ramp?
