@hoipong

I'm about to purchase one of these, but I need to know if it will clear my aftermarket coilover top hat (HKS). The coilover dampening knob extends upward out of the rear carpet about 3/4" and I'm afraid it will cause issues mounting this properly in the car.. I'm hoping JL designed the box with this in mind.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

They design the boxes with the stock suspension and no strut bar in mind. That being said, there's ways around it

Rear Strut bar is not what I'm questioning. I'm curious to know if my HKS coilover dampening knobs will hinder a proper Fitment

I understand that. The stealth box will go around the wheel well. You may be able to access from the top or from the back seat. Best thing to do is find someone who has one and either check in person or ask for pix. Good luck

I have it, but do not have stock speakers. paired with alpine 500W, set to 400RMS. I like it. It does not sound/feel like a ported 12 or anything, but it's way more precise then any of my friends/coworkers setups. It easily can make you feel it through the seats though.

yes, it is sold as speaker and enclosure only, (and mounting hardware which was very, very solid).

I was recommended the jl xd600/1v2 amp. But it's kind of pricey to me. Any other recommendations? Is it better to stick to the same brand as the subwoofer?

JLA recommends the XD300/1v2 ($305 from JLA), the speaker only handles 400W RMS. JLA amplifiers are clean and are a great match for their speakers but you can run any amplifier you choose.....although I would stay with a reputable class D. For half the price you could look at
Rockford Fosgate Prime R500X1D 500W RMS Mono Class-D and it would be OK.
