For a budget of $2k to $3k, it's tough to beat the T2s. They're a true DA with good range in compression and rebound, no adjuster crosstalk, and designed with aggressive spring rates in mind.
It looks like the 510 is not a true DA, it has a single adjuster that changes compression and rebound together. Same goes for the MCA Reds. Having had shocks like these, they should be avoided IMO; say you decide you're unhappy with rebound, you make a change...but now you've changed compression as well. It's a nightmare to tune. Stick with a SA or a true DA where you can make adjustments to one phase of the shock at a time. |

At that price range, we would recommend the MeisterR GT1 coilovers.
These are custom build coilovers using CNC internal that are engineered and manufactured in house at our UK workshop in Essex. We actually recently work out the dynamics on the GT86 and are looking to offer a more track focus setup. Spring rate are set at 8kg/mm front and rear. The wheel cycle frequency is a little close, but it is in range of what we like to use with semi-slick tyres, and should be enough to make sure the suspension do not hit harmonic. The damper valving if on threaded compound tires will have a more progressive load, so it will give the tires a little time to find grip before the load are initialised. We do have a harsher valving design for full slicks, and can build to the prefer specification. The GT1 coilovers for USA market will be build and serviced by MeisterR USA workshop. So if anything goes wrong, we will be able to service them in USA. ![]() Any other questions, please feel free to let us know. Jerrick |

I chose to go with pre-owned MCS singles, and haven't been disappointed. They rarely come up for sale on our classifieds, but when they do they offer serious performance and value. The company traces its lineage to Moton and the single adjustable dampers can be fully rebuilt, revalved, and converted to two-way adjustable dampers as your needs change in the future - highly recommended!

V3's are a bit on the soft side for heavy track use, and the RCE T2's are custom spec'd 2 way KW clubsports. Built by KW for RCE, so you still get the KW quality but with a more track focused damping setup.

The peeps in the know seem terribly unimpressed with Fortune Auto. Winning in lower-end racing seems more to do with driver skill than car setup. Also, I doubt the winners are running off-the-shelf setups.

I just placed my order last week and admittedly I didn't think about tires affecting spring rates . Running a 245/40/17 R-S3s V2 now and I was planning on a new same sized set of RE-11s for next season. My order was with standard spring rates - should I have swapped these for a stiffer spring @racecompengineering?

We designed the standard rates around sticky street tires like the RE-11s.The RC1s the other user is running are a bit more aggressive/sticky than that, so stiffer springs are recommended. - Andrew |

Y U no Sachs? I'm very curious as to why you're not happy with them? Streetability problems (too harsh, bouncy etc. on low speed/load stuff)?
