KW V3 or Stance coilovers for track days.
I was looking into getting one of these two coilovers. I'll probably be tracking my car at big/streets of willow every month. I had stance on my 2011 WRX and it was pretty good. Just wondering if any of you guys had any experience with either setup on the BRZ/FRS.

If those two are your only choices, KW V3 all the way. That's like asking Kia vs BMW.
Please, stay away from the sub $1k choices if you're going to be on the track more than once. Are you open to other options? |

Lets hear your suggestions. I'd like to know even if OP isn't open to other options.
I had originally looked into Eibachs coilovers.

In all reality, spending the money on seat time is the most important factor. If that variable is mostly mitigated, then returns on suspension will REALLY start to show. |

Why are those the only two options?
I'm on V3s.

For track days, I would think a better matchup would be more like:
KW vs Ohlins

Another suspension noob here. What are the main differences between $2K coilovers (KW V3) and $3.5k ones (Tein SRC, Ohlins...)?

Skip the V3s and get Racecomp Engineering Tarmac 2s. It's the same shock but with valving and spring rates more suited for track use.

I would never pay that kind of money for Teins or Ohlins. JRZ, KW, AST, and the shops that are doing their own version of those shocks are a way better option because they are out supporting their stuff and testing. RCE, Robi, TIC, Vorshlag, 949racing, etc are all in the US, are working on these parts, will answer the phone when you call them, and are out at the track all the time. In my opinion it's silly to buy something else. |

Don't let brand name fool you. Ohlins DFV... IMO, ride on the Ohlins name, without offering anything special. Their TTX series on the other hand is good stuff. Similarly, the JRZ RS-one is a waste of time, IMO. The RS is a twin tube, while the RS-Pro is a monotube. Unless you need a specific type of shock and/or packaging for racing/classing, get the best you can afford. |
