Looks pretty similar to BRZ though.

Here's a write up about the FRS/86 from Import Tuner.

Go to the 'Big Brake Kit' portion regarding similarities between WRX's and FRS/86's brakes.

STI Brembo brake upgrades have been mentioned a billion times; while Import Tuner is correct in that they are direct BOLT on, they are not properly functional.

That's just a parts list though, doesn't really have any data. Gonna try and keep up with posting gory tech details in here.

Have you guys tested any FR-S springs/shocks yet? I'm curious if they are 160/260 lbs like the Tein H Techs...

Not yet. I was under the impression the rears are identical to BRZ with softer fronts.

160/185 wouldn't surprise me, but 260 lbs/in in the rear would be a big time surprise IMO. We'll get on it soon.

so we know the sti calipers would eb mounted "upside down" if we kept them properly mounted on the FR-S/BR-Z.

I don't know these calipers well enough to guess, but other cars' calipers are uniform enough that they could be drilled and tapped to fit the bleeder on the other side. I'd think this would be a pretty simple modification to the calipers. Anyone know these calipers enough to know if this could happen? Brakes are important, so it would be a little scary to be the first to "test" this, but thought I'd ask...

For those who do not know (Centric/Powerslot) apparently has braking components available for the BRZ:

Part #s for the stock BRZ pads are
26296SC010 f
26696CA000 r
Easy enough to cross reference from there. I won't be looking at upgrading brakes other than lines and fluid, as I don't plan on using the brakes much.

Seriously though, with the high compression ratio which makes for more engine braking at throttle lift, and the fact that the car is not that powerful but light weight, it's definitely a "momentum" type car for track driving. No need to use the brakes much.

Ok, I'm confused. I've seen this in a couple of places.

What's the correct size and factory part number for the BRZ's front and rear rotor? I'm looking to buy a set for track work and haven't figured out what and where to buy. I guess I could go to the dealership, but it seems like there should be cheaper options…

Yeah, I was a bit thrown off too. I'm pretty sure all BRZ's in the US come with vented rear discs. I would call Centric (Powerslot) and ask them directly.
