OK for summer. Not such a great idea when in defrost mode in the winter. Unless ice racing of course.

Be really hard for me to work from home. Besides I don't want to stay in the house 5 months of the year!

On throttle knock while IAM > 0 is admittedly close to, but still within safe working limits. |

yep if the iam is above 0 then the ecu still has some room to control knock correction magnitude apparently even if the iam is =0 the flkc can still retard timing up to the flkc limit set in tables about -5 I think id be worried about the size and consistency of the knock corrections. at least when you have iam active (above 0 ) the ecu can reduce the magnitude of the corrections although at 0.2 its got very limited scope to do so so any flkc corrections wont reduce in size if iam is 0 or close to 0, you just keep getting the knock then the correction, without any magnitude reduction. yep for sure knock at high rpm/load/cylinder pressures much more dangerous. I think that why the south Africans has so much problems with DI seals early on. High temps, no transient retard on early roms, crap fuel (95 ron best they get) alreay very low IAM so they got consistent large knock correction that could not be significantly reduced by IAM. |
