Here you go. For the transmission, the bottle fits nicely up alongside the transmission. Massage the fill tube to get any kinks out and give the bottle small squeezes to assist with the filling process. It shouldn't need to be said, but put the fill tube in the hole before you raise the bottle. Also, put the fill tube in the actual fill hole and not the gap in the fins just in front of the fill hole. It's kind of embarrassing to pour brand new transmission fluid down the side of the transmission and all over your arm before realizing that you're a dumbass.
![]() The diff is more difficult, especially with the newer, more square bottles. You can't really get the bottle up above the fill port until it's mostly empty and you can crush it a little. Get it as high as you can and squeeze it pretty hard to force the fluid up and out. Once that doesn't work anymore, squish the bottle up in front of the axle shaft and keep going. It's ok if you wad the bottle up to get it up there, because you'll be throwing it out anyways. It isn't a 100% solution, but it's good enough. You can always unscrew the tops of the bottles to transfer any remaining fluid into the next bottle.

Well i used amsoil in my transmission and i must say i am disappointed because its pretty much the same as before only slightly smoother once its warmed up but now i cant downshift from 3-->2 i have to force it in... It was actually smoother down shifting with the oem fluid and just fyi i have the rear perrin shifter bushing and the whiteline transmission mount insert installed.
Im probably gonna try pentosin or redline mt-85 or mtl still not 100% sure yet because of the different grade from 75-90 Sent from my LGMS631 using Tapatalk |

Just a quick FYI - Last time I was at the Subaru dealer I stopped at the parts counter and asked, the fluids are now available in 1 liter bottles for ~$10 each rather than just the very expensive gallons they had it in before.
Harbor freight has simple fluid transfer pumps for about $10 so that should make it easy to use to drain the bottle without doing crazy gymnastic moves

Pay close attention to the transmission fluid Subaru will sell you...I bought some and it was GL-5 rated. Maybe they're now also selling the correct Toyota fluid (LV 75W GL-3), but the last time I bought the Toyota stuff, it was ~50 bucks/liter. |

Subaru tried to sell me their "Extra-S" when I went in asking for transmission oil. It's GL-5 and will fuck your transmission good. |
