That's a 245/40/18 on a 8.5 inch wide wheel. I know it is a completely different vehicle, just trying to show you how it looks the best I can.

Thanks alot man im readin all through google too. So many ppl seem to say 245/40 on 17x8 is terrible. Looks balloony. And some say its perfect. Doesnt look baloony to me? Looks like the stock 215s on the 17x7s. Doesnt it?

It is all about the tire. Some tires have stiff side walls and will sit square. MPSS 245/40/17 on a 17x7.5 +38

235/45 is a stock wrx size. A few members have this size on the stock 17x8 +53 WRX wheels...

245/40/17 great size tire.

.

THIS is true as well. Some brands run narrow, and some run wide which contributes to slightly different looks as well!

Haha tbh i enjoy the lack of grip the pimacys have. I feel like wider tire and performance tire will be to grippy for me. I enjoy the playfulness of the back end.

I ran 245/40 Nitto Motivo. They looked really pinched on the same wheels.

What does pinched mean. Like angled up not square? What do you suggest :|!!!

All I am saying is that: 245/40 can look bubbly, as others have said, if you get the "wrong" tire. 17x8.25 is totally wide enough for a 245/40. But, if you get a weak/cheap A/S tire, it still might not look like you want.

We have suggested the "right" size. I know you are concerned with how it looks (evidence: all your threads) And I don't want you to think we gave you wrong advice if the tire doesn't look right to you.

I have run the A/S +; A great tire. It was the predecessor of the AS3.
I am not sure it will give you the same level of grip as the stock tire though, probably more.

(my justification)
Good tires will save/help you in a panic situation, like a deer or a dog.

I am most concerned with keeping relative dimensions when compared to stock. Same sidewall. Same width as relative to 17x7 compared to 17x8.25. So extra 1.25" wider tire. Same sidewall. Same height. As rim is same dismeter

I just want to know what will fit on a 17x8.25 like a 215 45 fits on a 17x7
