I would say 3-4 months. Then another 6-8 of downtime after something / everything is wrong.

What? It is one of the newest kits available. Kraftworks and sprintex are probably much more widely used due to length of time available (not quality). Where are you finding a plethora of forced induced twins that just let you hop in and ride? Let alone specifically edelbrock cars. Lol.

Not sure why, but I get the impression the OP is quite immature/naive. Please don't be offended I am saying this, perhaps this realization might make you think twice regarding somewhat irrational decisions things that might result in a negative outcome. Trying to save $1000 and ending up with a non-working car in pieces in your garage will cost you WAAAYYY more in the long term. If anybody could do mechanical work then why are there so many licensed mechanics? And even after a couple years of classroom training and apprenticeship there are STILL lots of mediocre and lousy mechanics. Sure there are a lot of enthusiasts who do DIY work on these forums. Some of them probably could have made good licensed mechanics if they had decided to go that route. Are you that type person? I am 52 yrs old and as a university student in my early 20's I was very naive regarding this kinda stuff and sometimes learned the hard way.

After reading this, do you feel confident with a DIY install on your daily driver?

If the answer is yes, go for it. If it is no, don't be penny wise and pound foolish and fork out the $1000 or so for the install.

Disaster averted.

I already decided I'm not going to install it myself.

I don't care what it is you're installing, if it's FI related, you will not have it running in two days. I pretty much know what I'm doing and it took me two days for teardown and install, and then there's the question of "will it start" after you're done. It won't. You'll have some stupid issue and you'll have to go back and reverify everything.

Though, what did you buy? I'm curious.

Edit: Ah, still deciding. Well, pick what you want and don't listen to these guys saying "everyone runs that" or "try something different". Do what you want to do. There's probably a reason there are more people running one kit versus another, by the way, just saying.

Someone's never seen the aftermath of a fuel/oil fire.

Amen to that, Luftwaffel provided objective advice, rather than suggesting the Edelbrock kit just because he has it. A lot of people will recommend X supercharger/turbo just because they run it themselves.

Wow, given the naivety/ignorance of the OP in this thread and the other thread, this forum seems to be really tame. I am disappointed. I came in here for lulz, and none was had
