Body kit is on my loves car. His already has a lot done to it. FI, suspension, rims, headlight, tail lights, lighting, exhaust.. mine has suspension, rims, tails in the mail, headlights at my house, exhaust.. for me it's either RB or FI for now and I want to go FI
I don't want headers as my exhaust is already extremely loud.. I will just pay someone to do my FI but only thing I'm scared of is what if a problem happens with it and I don't know how to identify sounds or anything like that. Is there a beginner friendly kit out there. My love runs kraftwerks on his daily cause if the belt breaks he can get another and that has worked for more than 2 years. So I'm thinking that one

this much time: ∞

you have the body kit so you already look fast and at the end of the day that's all that matters..creating the illusion of being fast....drive slow and people will think you must be really fast but you have self control and showing restraint

Just for shits and giggles though I will throw my vote in with the don't do it crowd. Not only the install but all the other aspects of maintaining and troubleshooting a FI system will be significant.

What tune are you going to run?
What header and exhaust are you using to compliment the FI?
Depending on what your HP plans are what considerations have you given to snapping axles and other components?
Are you getting an oil cooler with the kit or separate?
What are your mounting plans for the intercooler grill in or out?
The car appears to already have an intercooler in the aforementioned post. Fake or what?

Supercharger will be less risky, less can go wrong. Maybe the Jackson or HKS if you like power up high.
Or a Sprintex or Edelbrock if you want to feel like you have a bigger engine with lower down power.

I like high up power, it seems more consistent with the character of this car IMHO.

One last thing, IMPORTANT-

If your car is loud enough now it will be even louder when FI. Sometimes I wish I had gone with an Invidia Q300 which is quieter vs Magnaflow. Headers increased volume but the blower increased it more.

Kraftwerks units (if you look through the forum) tend to have lots of issues. Do not go down this route if you want something that requires little maintenance.

If you want something that will be mostly 'install and then forget it' then go Edelbrock, Jackson Racing, or Phantom ESC.

In my opinion, if you can find a phantom ESC, then go that route. You can install it yourself in 2 or 3 hours and it provides a good boost in the low end.

Might want to include HKS supercharger in the mix too if you like JDM. Great product, nicely made.

Revworks and Circuit Motorsports are awesome in the Orlando area. Wouldn't look farther than either of them for professional service.

I have tried extremely hard to find a phantom over the past month, it seems almost impossible That was what I originally wanted to do.

My love has a kraftwerks on his car professionally installed and has had 0 maintenance on it in over 2 years. No belt break like I have read on the forums. He is either extremely lucky or all those people were user error(which I think it is this case as most people that I read about had installed the kit themselves or by non reputable shops).

I honestly think that the edelbrock kit is ugly. I don't like how it sits on top of the engine and thats just not an option because im stuborn when it comes to looks. I have though about SBD but that intercooler is just disgusting looking in my opinion and I am unwilling to modify the crash bar.

For me I think it is really down to kraftwerks/sprintex/jackson racing just in terms of looks and sound. Reliability is also a huge factor but like I said ive had personal experience with the kraftwerks with no issues and 20k miles put on it with 0 maintenance or belt breaks on a conservative tune...

This is the first time I've ever seen anyone call the Edelbrock kit ugly.

You don't like how the Edelbrock kit sits on top of the engine but you're fine with the Sprintex?

I think you're probably right about the Kraftwerks kit - I think the majority of people install themselves and don't get the tension right. Either undertension and cause noise/slap or over tension and damage the supercharger - and in both cases the belt will break. Also you need to make sure you prime the supercharger properly. If you like the Kraftwerks kit, you should find a shop experienced with these kits - even experienced wrenchers can mess it up if you don't know the tricks for that kit. BTW I hope 2K for your boyfriend included dyno tuning etc? That's super $$$$ for just install.

To answer your original question..."What would expected install time be for someone like me?"

The answer is: Most likely a time line approaching infinity! A frustration level of galactic proportions...and...Your home town newspaper will be publishing at story in 2075 titled: "What was she thinking"?

Do yourself a favor an follow the...."let a professional do the install", path. You will much happier (though admittedly poorer) in the end.

The whirling noises the sprintex produces makes it worth it. Edelbrock is just there.. plus everybody and their mom has an edelbrock. I've seen and riden in so many of them... I want something different
