Need traction to have woopie in the car. Adding leather seats will not provide for this traction.

Heckk no the guy Jeff is a bitch. I suggest you go to Penske Scion in Downey. They will let you test drive both AT & MT. Cars are sold @ mrsp. and no waiting list. There is no reason to wait just look @ other dealers and they have the Fr-s available.

Another dealer that doesn't know floormats are STANDARD equipment on these cars?

The trunk mat is the optional floormat.

I was at Downey Scion about a week ago, and even they didn't sell the car at msrp, although this dealer was the most reasonably priced of all the dealers I have seen. They want msrp +$2,000 for the dealer installed LoJack. At least they don't have custom leather or ugly aftermarket wheels.

That stitching is all over the place and looks like sh*t. As an aftermarket add-on, it will cause the value to go down, not up, and the vast majority of enthusiasts will stay far away because of that and the lack of grip.

That said, the stupid money someone mentioned may very well buy them, but those buyers are spoiled teenage girls, not enthusiasts. They don't get on forums and spread the word (good or bad) about dealers the way enthusiasts do. What these dealers don't understand is that this is not a spoiled teenager car or an impulse buy. It's an enthusiast car, and those are the people they should be marketing for.

They're sacrificing great word of mouth and future enthusiast sales for a quick buck from a tiny market segment. It's greedy and stupid, and they'll get the poor long-term sales they deserve.

MSRP still leaves the dealer with over $1000 profit and some hold back money as well as advertising money....price gouging will only hurt the dealer network's reputation over time...we have almost completely sold out of our yearly allocation because we dont charge a penny over msrp and only add the customers selected accesories....Its ok that my dealer is making a small profit from our 5Axis kits or wheels but we wont add them until the customer asks...and dont mark them past msrp from the manufacturer...one more left and the customer gets to pick the color and transmission option with a REFUNDABLE $500 deposit...and they wont pay a pennie over mrsp...Know your product, listen to your customer, do things the right way and your customers return and send you business from family and friends...treat customers the way you would want to be treated if you were making the second biggest purchase of your life...Thats my motto and it has served me well....There are good dealers out there and word of mouth is the best way to determine which ones are worthy spending time and money with.

Those leather seats actually look pretty decent. I'm amazed. I don't like that option being forced onto the buyer. But at least the work looks good.

Why is anybody surprised that this would happen. The dealers will do whatever it is to make more money. Same thing happened with the last sports car I bought. Just depends on how bad you want to be the first one on the block

Your right but you can tell them you don't want that lowjack crap and they won't install it and you will get your car in the nxt delivery. But if they try to force lojack screw them; don't pay a penny over msrp.

Yeah, that's what I told them if they wanted my business for the next car. The one I saw already had it installed. Doubt they would take it off for me. Lol. I may just look for a BRZ although I've experienced worse markups from them. Lol. I can't win

Yeah they won't remove it; just wait a bit and forget about the BRZ they're almost the exact same car but a few tweaks in difference. Dealers that sold BRZs at msrp sold their cars first now they are still available @ other dealers but with ridiculous mark ups (2.5k-7k). IMO BRZs were not worth the extra 1100 dollars since the beginning that is why I did not buy one.

The dealer I went to tried to tell me they have leather seats they ordered for it and they had a $3,000 dollar mark up as well as the paint film and BeSpoke and said the car out the door is now $37,000 after I just test drove it without leather seats or any of that crap...

Bottom line, I got the car for base price, don't let them push you around. If they want to fck around and talk about putting leather seats that aren't already in it, walk away, they will come back for you trust me i left the dealership and got stopped on my way out by 2 "managers" and then called by the "general manager" when I got home...

DONT LET DEALERS PUSH YOU AROUND!

^^^^$37,000?!!!!

For a $25k car? I think Scion dealers finally have a product people want for a change and they've become delusional. I think the Subaru dealers (some of them) have been selling WRX and STI's for the past 10 years. They have had enthusiasts in their showrooms and been selling cars people are excited about. Maybe thats why I'm hearing more good Subaru stories than Scion.

Honestly if I didn't already have my car, I'd be turned off by this whole process. I'd go to the Ford dealer, plunk down $27k and get a leftover 2012 Mustang GT with some options (selling for invoice less $3k cash back!). Then drive over to the Scion dealer and do a big smokey burn out in front of their place. (props given if I could do 2 donuts followed by a straight line burnout, leaving a nice 25' long "piece of art" showing what I thought of them)
