There are different formulations of sealant depending on what is being sealed- coolant, oil, transmission fluid all have different requirements.
It's not just the effectiveness of the seal itself- it's the resistance of the sealant to breaking down, and dropping nasty bits into oil galleries, for example, that's important. Now, since the #103 FIPG is specified for crankshaft covers among other things, you should be fine. |

Just an update on the sealant. So far so good. If any leaks. Its probably minimal. I thought it was leaking again, until I noticed that the leak was actually coming from the oil temp sensor
I just tightened it back up, and out a little coat of silicone around the bottom of the timing chain cover. Sent from my LG-D850 using Tapatalk |
