The torque "dip" exists because that's how you get the superb fuel economy of this car.

My take is that the "dreaded torque dip" is nothing but a line on a graph.

Like said, under normal driving, you shouldn't notice it (and if you hadn't read about it, you might not have noticed it). If your driving it hard, you shouldn't be in that rpm range......

See, how easy it is to "get past it" .....

Gotcha. I can't tell you how much this BRZ reminds me of the integra Type-R I had 16 years ago.. Time for some neuroplaticity again and learn to drive the car to its potential.. just like the Type-R

A tune alone from any vendor wont eliminate torque dip just reduce it

A tune with E85 fuel will go close

A tune plus decient cattless header will get rid of it UEL headers usually work best in that mid rpm area,

Ace header works well and combines best of el and uel headers but its expensive and you will require a specific tune for that header. it good but will likely cost you north of $2000

if your just interested in eliminating torque dip a decient uel header like grupp s and an off the shelf tune will do it for about $1000 all up

I think it exists to make it feel fast much like turbo lag back in the ole days of turbo charging............nothing for ages...........itch the itch..........think about what you want for lunch/ supper..........then whoaah! Oh then desperately applying the brakes for corner that suddenly appears unexpectedly quickly...

Interested in what you end up with. I was thinking of doing headers but I work shifts too and don't wanna piss off the neighbors too much. Lol. I'm leaning towards something catted since my FP isn't catted anymore, just resonated.

On a good day my car feels reasonably quick. When the ecu detects improper planetary alignment, 10 percent humidity, or somebody farts within a 5 mile radius it pulls with the authority of a diesel vanagon.

These options below won't eliminate it 100%, but improve it while staying very quiet.

Option 2 of course would benefit more since your removing the stock header but it will be a pricey method if your goal is to have a quiet ride.

Option 1 (Keeping Stock Header)
Stage 1 OFT Tune
Aftermarket Drop in Filter (HKS, Apexi, K&N)
Aftermarket Inlet Tube (Perrin, Mishimoto)
Catless Fujitsubo Dual Resonated Front Pipe
Quiet Catback Exhaust (Fujitsubo Authorize R, Blitz VS/VSR , Invidia Q300)

Option 2 (Quietest Cat-less Header option)
Stage 2 OFT EL-Tune
Aftermarket Drop in Filter (HKS, Apexi, K&N)
Aftermarket Inlet Tube (Perrin, Mishimoto)
Quiet Catback Exhaust (Fujitsubo Authorize R, Blitz VS/VSR , Invidia Q300)
Apex'i EL Catless Header + overpipe + catted & resonated front pipe (This comes in a 3pc set only)

Hope this helps you a little bit.

No point in trying to address something that you may not even notice once you drive the 2017's as the mt cars will have some engine/gearing improvements...

Mr.Impreza: if goal is to have quiet ride, i'd be careful which intake to choose (if any), as some remove stock resonators and may actually be louder then stock. I'd rather simply would do sound tube delete (you can do quick test if that's what you want by plugging it using glovebox ciglighter plug), which as side gain will also lessen road noise getting into cabin.
