Is my ECU flashed?

Hello all!
I just picked up a 2013 FR-S. I noticed that the precious owner put on a invidia exhaust on. So I got to thinking, what else did he/she do? My next thought was ECU....which brings me here....how the hell can I tell if it's been flashed?
Thanks!

Get something to pull the tune, either open flash tuner or tatrix cable and then compare it to a stock tune. Or maybe it will just be labeled differently.

Its not easy to determine if tune is stock, unless you have access to a device to read roms or at least read the cvn (checksum) value then compare it to a stock rom of same calibration id

Take it to a dealer and ask them politely if they could check it for $20

Interesting conundrum, if you go to the dealer and he finds that the car has had a tweak will this influence any future issues with warranties?

In Australia it's a 3 year warranty, if it's the same where you are I doubt you need to worry.

can you ask the previous owner if he had a tune on a car? if you can't contact him and don't have a way to pull the tune off the ECU, then with the car on and stopped, pull the cruise control stalk and see if the RPM needle jumps up to 1, 2, or 3, etc to see if you have an EcuTek tune. I am not exactly sure how to change maps since I don't have EcuTek, but it's something like that (you can find out more with a forum search). then if nothing happens, just clutch in and floor it to see if you have launch control. if it just revs to redline, and map changing doesn't work, then you probably don't have a tune.

Unfortunatly not all ecutek tunes use map switching and launch autoblip and flat foot shift are options. map switching can also be done via defrost switch or the centre console traction buttons.

It could have also been tuned with brzedit ot an openflash tablet or tactrix ecuflash, which dont have those features

Thanks.

Now...to find someone with all that. Ha
I've never read data from a ECU before.

Thanks guys, I'll try that all later.
And also, I've been seeing "flat foot shift"..is that literally you can leave the gas peddle slammed and still shift?

Also, is there any flashes out there that can put your car into a antitheft mode? I use to have a 05 GLI jetta, the APR flash had that, once on, there was no way of getting the car started unless you knew the password through a series of actions performed through the cruise control buttons. .....I just would hate to start to push buttons seeing of my FR-S had a flasg and push the wrong sequence and lock the car up ha.

If your car is running fine dont worry, only a small percentage of cars are tuned, if the header is still stock then it unlikely (and you cannot see evidence of work ie removal replacement of parts like intake or headers) then it unlikly it tuned.

The standard security key fob is very good theirs no need to add additional security.

you can get ecutek tunes with a valet mode where car will run but at reduced power and rpm limit inless you know how to switch maps, i dont think they have the coded sequence for frs\brz. unfortunatly a lot of people know how to map switch on ecutek.

yes flat foot shift you can chage gear in manual at 100% throttle, you still use clutch, and it signals ecu to cut power as you shift, can do it with ecutek and oft and brzedit tunes, the ecutek has a better system though
