Don't misunderstand me, it's just an accident. But driving on in a gravel lot is especially with such a low clearance car it just seems you may have been going too fast. The pic looks like the aluminum was scraped on a large rock. It could happen to anyone and if you had the regular bolt it would still have been damaged. It's a live and learn incident. Don't take offense

Lowered and Long nipple def does not work, I had to ask that before getting it and most of the lowered people said to get the non-nippled version and maybe the short nippled if you plan to use the Nipple and they got a extended elbow for it anyways if you need it.
Still gonna get the short nipple version so I don't wear out the thread on the pan over the long period of changing the oil since I plan to track too. And on their website it stated to not use the long nipple version on low ground clearance vehicle and on the product finder it on shows the Non-nipple and short nipple version for our cars. http://www.fumotousa.com/results.php...16&model=33416 Long nipple disclaimer: Might not be the exact model, but long like OP pictures http://www.fumotousa.com/parts.php?partnumber=33 |

I once nailed another fellow Canadian on the beach in Varadero Cuba, she had the longest nipples I have ever seen! LOL All this nipple talk...

I have the shorty. Doesnt go below the skid plate. Kinda worth the risk...do you change your oil? I have never had oil come out so dramatically. Holy hell. Love my Fumoto.

So take aways from this thread:
If you really want Fumoto, get the short version (which is what I have) https://www.fumotooildrainvalve.com/...-16mm-1-5.html Otherwise stick with your standard bolt |

So I have a short version of the Fumoto valve.
Car is lowered on coilovers. Just had a track day and I overcooked it, ended up in the "kitty litter" (gravel). Poor car, the under body is all scratched now. ![]() Even though the impact was quite severe and the car dug in, the valve is still intact and sustained no damage, not even a scratch. |

.
The first time I saw this product, my understanding was there must be some risk or disadvantage running this. Otherwise this design would have been purchased and be used on many cars from factory. Now I know what the risk is. .

Its not about the risk, mostly any car at stock height wouldnt have problems with this. Why cars dont have it from stock is simple, $$$.
