To be honest if you looks away from the hype, The only thing that gives real performance is the 4.3 Final Drive. I think like 8/10 of us will install that....

Then brembos.

Don't see how there is much more you could know that wasn't in that document. It is pretty comprehensive. Hell they even point out bolts that were changed.

Yeah, and not to mention the car will be out in September. At this point I think we all know what the car is and isn't going to be for the '17s.

Actually... There are several things they haven't mentioned. But again, they've listed pretty good amount of stuff, so good enough right?

Maybe I didn't browse as indepth as I thought I did, but I could've sworn I heard about strengthening the rear half-shafts. Would that be one of the missing components?

So, I know everyone was excited about the new Performance Package available on the 2017 - specifically the Brembo brakes. I tried to find information about the size of them in the PDF document, and couldn't find any direct information. Then I looked at the massive data spreadsheet at the end of the document. All the listed models for the US market had the same rotor diameter (294mm, which is ~11.5", which is the standard rotor size.)

On a whim, I looked at the Japanese models, and look what I found. I'm going to ASSUME that these are the Brembo rotors, considering that these models also come with the 17x7.5" wheels that you get with the Performance Package. If so, I'm seeing 326mm, which is ~12.8", which is ~1.25" larger than the standard size! A decent size increase!

This isn't an official confirmation, obviously, but it seems like a reasonable conclusion.

I am really curious if the Brembos are from the parts bin on other Subarus or if it was really developed for the BRZ specifically. more specifically, I wonder if there will be any change in brake bias with the performance package

Does full LED headlights mean that they no longer come with HID's?

I always thought that HID's were superior in functionality and looks/brightness compared to LED's. In the beginning when they were talking about LED I assumed they meant the drl and turn signals but I guess I'm wrong.

That matches up with the brake specs planet subaru already posted here:

I would give an A for effort and B- for the result. But I am sure it is definitely an improvement in every aspect from pre 2017 model.

At least we know now from the document that this is a new yellow, not the sunrise yellow from the rs 1.0.

It's a "Charlesite yellow."
No, Subaru just names their colors differently than the FRS. It's likely the exact same paint code.

HID is still superior in output. The diagrams says it's as good, but I'm doubting it. Now the LED fogs look just like the fogs I put on my car...

It's really obvious that they've been looking at the modifications people have been doing to these cars in the aftermarket and just applying them stock. Interior trim, LED lighting, better tail lights...

Interesting note on the new high pressure fuel pump:
Quote:
The fuel pump has been changed to a DENSO next-generation unit (R/C planned for 16MY).
What does "R/C" mean in this context? I'm hoping this might be the fix we've all been waiting for.

Also of note is that the new rear wing is aluminum.

No. The rs 1 paint is called sunrise yellow.

/facepalm

Paint CODE =/= paint NAME

Red: BRZ "Pure Red" - FRS "Ablaze"
White: BRZ "Crystal White Pearl" - FRS "Halo"

And so on. They have the same paint code, but different names for them. The only unique colors are Hot Lava and Oceanic for the FRS and World Rally Blue Pearl for the BRZ.

In other words they could call it pink polka dot for all it matters, if the paint code is the same it's the same damn paint!
