I've got the fumoto valve, and I do my own oil changes.

I found its one of those things that doesn't save that much time, but every time I use it I think, "why didn't I buy this earlier...".

The fact that I don't get oil on my hands/have to dig out the drain plug from a pool of oil is worth it for me lol.

Product looks awesome in theory but idk. I could see it being very useful if you had to do oil changes very frequently. In my opinion it looks like more margin for error and just another component to fault and cause me issues. Bet its alot less messy thought for sure! Some oil on my hands every 3 months and get me out the house is not much for me to complain about.

Crush washers are cheap (a dollar?), the Fumoto saves you a whopping 30 seconds each oil change for about a one time $15. I don't see there being a huge benefit, but I also don't see the drawbacks as being huge either.
crush washer was like 30 cents at subaru

Best $30 i've spent on my car is the Fumoto valve. You don't have to worry about holding the nut on so you won't spill any oil and getting a wrench in there. Plus I literally use 1 finger to drain it and close it. That alone is worth a measly $30. It not really about cost as much as simplicity.
