Monkey Butt Red FR-S

I jumped ship from the BRZ Limited to the FR-S a week ago. I originally had ordered both the FR-S and the Limited intending to take what came first. The FR-S was orange and the Limited was rally blue. But then, I decided I would rather have red, and I was leaning towards the BRZ, so I changed my BRZ color order (and dealership).

The reason I was leaning towards the Limited because I was coming from a gen 2 Audi TT and I liked the creature comforts the car offered.

I neglected to cancel my intial Scion order, and one day a month ago, the dealer said mine was due in the following week. I backed out of the order because my heart was set on red.

While I like the Limited's cool factor, push button starting and all, it really bugged me that the car was forty pounds heavier than the FR-S.

Last week, when I became aware of an available Monkey Butt Red FR-S, I checked it out and I decided to buy it.

It's no Audi TT, and it's no Audi TT. The interior is definitely low end cheesy for the most part, but then, it cost half as much. Yet, I seldom notice the interior because driving the car is more immediate and involved than the TT.

Powerwise, it is not the TT. But it isn't butt slow.

Handlingwise, oh baby, baby, let's do it again. I drove to Canyon Lake near Phoenix, AZ. A very twisty and often steep road. Without running above 4,000 rpm, i flew up the road, mostly be conserving momentum in the corners. I had to pulled over 15 times because I kept catching the cars in front. I would give them two to three minutes, then I would take off. Shortly, I was on them again. I was working the car, but not pushing the car. It is really amazingly nimble.

I am very happy with my purchase.

The car drives like a Miata, but it feels more precise. It is a scapel.
