I've been using these 3mm spacers up front w/ stock studs for over a year now with no issues: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/5x100-Hubcentric-Spacers-Subaru-Impreza/dp/B00A7I2SU0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1425489071&sr=8-3"]www.amazon.com/5x100-Hubcentric-Spacers-Subaru-Impreza/dp/B00A7I2SU0/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1425489071&sr=8-3[/ame]

You wouldn't get noise or vibration from too much spacer thickness on the stock studs...

The only thing that would happen is the lugs coming off from not enough thread engagement.

I've seen 5MM slip ons done with no problems BUT i havent been updated since after the initial install, I'm still wary of it though, I wouldn't do it. 3mm I'm comfortable with (which is what i'm using unfortunately)

And as others have said. DO NOT cheap out on spacers, I've seen way too many people have cracked and/or warped spacers (some were warped before use). I've also heard of wheels off's from sheared studs on cheap-o spacers. I'll stick with H&R's, and Eibachs (Or Project Kics if I'm feeling sexy :P)

I've used 5mm spacers on my car. Cross country trips, drift events, daily driven. Zero issues after over 10k miles. Just made sure to properly torque them down to spec.

I wouldn't go any more than 5mm though.

3mm spacer on stock is fine. Any thicker buy quality bolt on spacers, or extended studs with a slip on spacer. Of course the best solution is a wheel that fits correctly.

I have 20mm H&R spacers with the studs pressed out, and ARP extended lugs on my setup. I'm pleased with that.

I ran 15mm spacers with extended studs, but 5mm spacers were used with OEM studs.
