I want to go old-school mechanical. I have a 0-100 that I need to test to see if it can handle startup pressure. I'll have to find a 0-150 if it gets tweaked.

Is that why you were surprised how I drove off the other day? I figured as long as I keep it below 3K I should be ok, no?

For reference when cold I prefer to "shift at 120psi" rather than a specific rpm, little more dynamic. 100 PSI will get you the entire warmed up operational range!

Is the oil pressure gauge really that important on a stock motor for one of these? I mean I feel like the Oil Pressure Gauge and a Wideband are like, essentials, generally, just wasn't sure what others thought.

I'm fine with using the built in AFR sensor for the time being though. |

You all motivated me to add a pressure sensor lol.
I have the p3cars gauge already, just gonna add a sensor to it. We'll see how it goes. |

There is one scenario in which a pressure gauge will not help; galley or orifice blockage. I don't know how they've been building them recently but the early FA20s had lots of goop slopped in places where pieces could break off like blood clots causing a heart attack. -___-

Word, it's on my to-add list for sure. Not sure if I'll want to add the P3cars gauge and buy the sensors or just buy a separate wideband and oil pressure for the bling factor (and ability to monitor both separately). Probably the latter, but I can't find anyone who makes a matching wideband and oil pressure gauge. Smh.

I don't think the p3cars gauge is worth it, but it came with my car and I don't really want to add any other gauges anywhere.
It's $60 to add the oil pressure stuff using the prosport sender and wiring, plus the adapter for the galley plug. If you're going to add a big bulky sender (like usually comes with some of the gauges) it's best to remote mount it with a 12-24" section of braided line. That way you don't run the risk of snapping the sender with vibrations and whatnot from the motor. |
