You should just let them replace your engine. I predict your intake cam gear popped that cover which caused the p0016 code. Then, continued driving with major loss of oil pressure destroyed the rest of the engine.

Aren't you still under warranty? You aren't going to do any better with a used s2k.

Still under warranty, and I'm hoping they are replacing it. I shouldn't of had any issues with oil. The car just got an oil change and drove less then 600 miles. (Dealer did the oil change for when it was in there last for warranty issue) We'll see what happens and see what they discover.

You didn't have issues with the oil, per se. The oiling system failed. 100% not your fault but you already knew that.

I agree. We'll see if they'll blame it on the mods or not.

Shit still amazes me they didn't ship these cars with oil pressure gauges (or even monitoring!!). That 2psi dummy light only tells you if the sump is empty. Oskar, you scared enough to install one yet?

Ugh. I know, right? So many damn higher priorities. I'm sweating road trips on my compromised transmission when an oil pressure gauge is much more important.

All the cool kids have an oil pressure gauge. You need to man up!

I got super lucky and basically got mine from Perrin for free because of various other things that happened but I didn't say that outloud.

If you help me with a boost gauge, I'll help you with the oil pressure gauge. I need to get @Jonesy86 MAP plate so I can try drilling/tapping it so I can get a reading. If you guys pull off his supercharger, you should see if you can get the tiny bolt off the back without stripping it like I did mine for a much easier way to get a boost reading without drilling/tapping. Although if you can get mine out then I won't need to drill a MAP plate.

Totally on me. I was d!cking around and gave the midshaft a good smack. Damaged one of the end bearings. Hint: Even in the rain, it's a bad idea to flat-foot 1-2 shift in the middle of a burnout. Probably worse than wheel hop.

edit: how do I know what happened? A noted expert clued me in based on descriptions of my poor judgement and symptoms. Apparently it's really common.

@Decay107 found me a sweet deal on a low-mileage replacement but I haven't had time to install it. I intend to disassemble mine, give it a thorough inspection and tighten up any loosely-shimmed gear sets if I find any.
