The ESC really isnt intended for track use. Most track applications will push the ESC past its design goals(street performance). Autocross is usually fine as those sessions are short and there are breaks after each run. For track use it would be recommended to remove the ESC and replace with the stock intake, especially if it is a long track with lots of straights.

From my experience at this track, I expect I'll run out of boost with this system or trigger the thermal protection. So what then? Will it hurt anything to shut it off and stay out there unboosted? Am I OK to run on the same OFT tune with the system shut off or should I remove it and flash back to a Stage 2 tune?

I don't want to damage the system. I bought the ESC primarily for street use, but I don't want it to be a liability at the track, and would be prepared to uninstall for a day if recommended.

My starter is dead and I don't have an outdoor area where I can trickle charge it, so I'm going to order another one.

Should I get the PC680 or PC680MJ?

track day

Thanks again for the input. This is not a competitive event - just a few friends that rent the track for the day. My "sessions" and breaks are as long or short as I choose them to be.

I plan to run it with ESC installed and see how it goes, at least for a couple laps. If it seems like it isn't keeping up or it's getting very toasty, I'll just pull it and put the stock intake tube on for the balance of the day just to save it from the abuse. It won't put a damper on the fun to do so.

The greater unknown to me was, if I remove it, whether it is critical to flash back to a Stage 2 tune. Sounds like that won't be necessary as I won't be looking for every last hp possible. Will have my OFT with me and will probably try it both ways if I end up pulling it.

For those familiar with history of the kit, are there different generations of PROcede units? I have a v3 ESC kit (not yet installed), and I'm curious if I need a specific PROcede box? Or can I adapt the output of the proceed wiring to the input plug to the controller...

Wiring is all the same. Difference is if it has a usb port or serial.

Comes with a metal jacket around the battery. Strongly recommend this as it lessens the issues with heat.

Would a variable geometry turbo benefit the ESC?

It was a glorious maiden voyage. Totally wakes up the car.

I noticed my voltage never went above 28.0 if it matters.
