If Weir rebuilds your diff you will never have a problem. He has done 2 diffs for me and both were perfect with no noise or vibration. And I launch my car on slicks at 7600RPM at the track with no problems...

Good news! (I can now share info now that it's settled)

I sent a letter to Ron's Automotive detailing that I would expect them to comply with my credit card dispute. (They probably realized they would lose anyway based on evidence). I also asked that they cover any damages related to the improper modifications to the gears.

They refused this latter request.

I counseled with my attorney and we formulated a plan of what we were going to do. I called back Ron's Automotive and said "You can expect to be paying X dollars, or X dollars plus my legal fees."

The refused again. At this point I said "You realize that I will win this court case right? This will not be fun for you."

They again refused. A day later I was called by their insurance company who tried to make it seem like I somehow messed up and than the noise was normal.

Meanwhile a trusted local shop had taken out the diff and inspected it. The results of that have already been posted. It was sent of to Weir performance where it was torn down and inspected. Spence took some pictures and wrote up another report.

I forwarded all of my information to the claims company that is affiliated with Ron's Automotive.

Two Fridays ago, they called me to discuss the case. I presented the fact that I would be taking Ron's Automotive to court for the damages if i was not willingly reimbursed. They said "let us have our guy look at this evidence and we will get back to you".

Less than two hours later they call back and issued me a check for the full amount of the repair costs. I received the check in the mail and have already deposited it.

My guess is that they saw the evidence and how badly it had been screwed up and realized they stood no chance in court. Thus they were so eager to settle for everything I wanted.

In other good news, the rebuilt diff is now back in my car and it's running perfectly. No noise, just smooth operation. It feels fantastic!

Are you AT or MT? AT would potentially be livable, but man...MT would really be a pain with FI and 4.88's in my opinion.

Heck I have the AT and I swapped with another guy for a stock 4.10 diff after I went supercharged. I won't lie...it's kinda nice being able to easily hit 60mph in 2nd and also cruise along at 80 mph at ~2500-2600 RPM.
