Swap AT Diff with MT Diff

From what I am reading, the final drive is in the differential. If I swapped a differential from a manual transmission into my auto, would that just give me the same final drive as the manuals? There are a bunch of wrecked twins out there now so this is a viable option. thanks

The gearing is different in the actually tranny. Both MT and AT come with 4.10 rear end
