A few years back I was running bfg g force kdw 2's in a 235/40/17 on my Neon. Car makes a little over 400whp/wtq. Consistently had tire spin at the top of 3rd gear under full boost. Swapped over to a 225/45 Mich PSS and 3rd gear no longer breaks loose (unless it's like under 60 degrees outside).

Moral of the story is tire compound > than tire width
