Car will not turn over check list:

1) Check/change battery

2) Do the 1,000 other things that people will say to try

3) See #1

You haven't got back to us on the voltage of your car's battery.

The exact voltage is quite important, as you can see from the attached chart.

A battery with ONLY 12.0 volts WON'T engage a starter.

Have a beer, take a deep breath and ....... come back.

Bullchit. Even 10 volts can "engage" a starter. Sure it won't actually get it to fully turn the car on, but will do a couple of slow chugs to try.

I'm guessing this car is Push To Start based on his "will only go to acc" comment? My car is regular key, so I'm not 100% on your PTS procedure, but when the battery in the fob dies, where does the owners manual say to hold it to get the car to start with a dead fob battery? That is what I would try...

I think that if the voltage is so low that the ECU does not have the number in its lookup tables, it won't even attempt to start.

I stand corrected ...... @Davegixxer is correct ..... a battery putting out only 10 volts will turn a starter over.

Old humfrz was a couple of volts off on that one ......

I have a key to put in to start it. Wish it was push start. Would've been a nice touch but I didn't get it with one

Ok if its key start, then when you insert and turn key the key symbol on dash should turn green, if its still red it means the car is not reading the security RFID tag in they key.

They are usually passive chips ie even if battery is flat in key it will still work, the battery just powers the bush button lock,,\unlock.

If neither key get the key symbol on dash to turn green the car is not going to start as security is still active.

4- I did wiggle the steering wheel which is weird since I've never had to do that to any other vehicle I've owned.

5- I also have the base of the model so I don't have the fancy push start button 😕👎🏼

Once I get the new battery in I hope it fixes the problem
on the push button start cars the electrically operated steering lock pin can become jammed if theor is pressure on it from steering wheel and it does not release, car wont start.

on key start it likely mecanicaly operated by turning key so just make sure when you turn key to on position steering lock is released

Ok. So it is still not starting? What exactly happens? When you turn the key to crank do all of the gauge lights and everything drop out or stay on and bright? No crank at all right? I deal with tons of "no start" issues at work with bypass modules locking up or adding remote starts to integrate with factory immobilizers. With a multimeter and 10 minutes I'm sure I could tell you what is going on with it. If only you were near Chicago

Then you have a problem with the security system not recognizing your key. If the new battery does not cure this, then the dealer is going to have to trouble shoot the security immobilizing system of the car.

You've tried both keys. Also random question, but you don't have any other random keys on that key ring that have chips do you? Mostly a Toyota issue I have seen, but other car manufacturers keys sometimes have stronger RFID that are sending out their signal and in worst case scenarios the car sees that other chip and freaks out. Normally not an issue, but I have tried to program a bypass module before and the car didn't like it because of a benz and ford key on the same ring.

You said you had a turbo installed? What are you doing for electronics/fuel management?

Unfortunately I think that's what's going to happen

I don't have other keys on the key ring just the one for the scion. The kit is from Fullblown Motorsports stage 1. I haven't added anything else to it other than what came with the kit
