Well, to be honest. I have been in and out of a few cars since different cars fit different projects or different levels of hpde or racing events. My first BRZ, a '13 model, i made more of a drag car. I had a FBM turbo kit and i was pushing over 410 whp. It was destroyed. No, not while street racing.

My second BRZ was more of track toy. I ran it for about a year in different events. My wife ran my 09 Cayman S. As she got better she wanted a manual. It only took me 8 years to get her to want a manual.

Anyways, so we decided to get rid of both of our track toys and buy 1 really nice track toy. A '15 Boxster S. We got a great deal on a slightly used demo model. It was bare bones, the perfect track toy. But 6 months later we got pregnant. We did some work on the budget. Made several changes, and a very long story short....the only vehicle we both like to track that is within our budget is a BRZ. So there you go. The good thing is i have several friends in the car industry, which i use to be in, so changing cars for me is not a real headache. I am fortunate.

How long have you had the WRX OP? and from what car are you coming from?

Sometimes you have to detox from your old car, and get acclimated to your new one. This is coming from a guy who has owned a lot of cars. When i go from my BRZ to my WRX, i really feel the lag in my WRX. But when i go from my truck to my WRX, the car feels sharp as hell and the lag is never on my mind.
This! I agree 100%. I experienced this power wise going from my eve 8 to the frs and with weight/steering feel going from the frs to wrx. It really just take adjusting and getting use to , like new shoes (actual shoes, not car club/stance talk for tires) or anything else.

If you want THE ultimate comprise car... a 1997 BMW M3 Sedan. The handling will be VERY close to your BRZ and it's got a decent sized back seat. Plus, they run about $10k and you can do A LOT of work on the car yourself.

That car is basically a 4 door BRZ. It's from an era when a lot of cars were fun to drive. Sadly, I do prefer reliability and amenities of a modern car.

I so freaking wish there was a 4 door BRZ on sale today! I'd buy it so quick, it'd make the salesman's head spin.

Oh and I'll crash over every single bump and pothole there is to enjoy the feel of the BRZ.

Could try experimenting with a coilover setup.

Tein Flex A and Flex Z seem pretty nice. The Flex A has a hydraulic bump stop which makes DD more comfortable, where the Z is a simpler design. They also have an active control to switch settings on the fly:

I wouldn't recommend tein if you are looking for comfort. They are not good digressive shocks, which is good both for traction and for comfort. I would recommend the tried and true companies like bilstein and ohlin. The new ohlins should theoretically be pretty nice for ride quality given the less aggressive spring rates.

Shock curves are more than just "soft" or "hard". If you have a linear curve, it is impossible to match it with a good setting. You will either be too stiff at high speed or too soft at low speed.

RX8 is about as close as you're going to get.
