Even if they provide the new intake, intake manifold and ECU the power upgrade won't be so much. Maybe in the range of 8-10 hp. The GRMN 86 has changed internals which can give a higher rpm range (+300 rpm).

Still like my FRS better. At least with my car, I can mod it to how I want and it wouldn't matter. This GRMN model, I'd be ashamed to mod it because of how exclusive it is.

I know this sounds messed up, but I can't wait to vulture second hand parts off these once a couple of them get in wrecks.

I wish no harm to the drivers and owners themselves. I just want the parts!

Since these will never see the US I don't think you are going to get much opportunity to scoop parts. Even if they did you would probably have to be standing right beside it when it was wrecked to get anything.

I'm in the same boat w you. I want some of those parts!!! Cuz all those parts aren't some other brand that GRMN just bought and stamped their name on. They're LITERALLY their custom made (not like TRD or STI). Can't get it anywhere other than GRMN 86.

I am sure it will not take long for some of the aftermarket companies to reverse engineer some of the parts.

I like these parts because of their simplicity of old school thinking while NOT utilizing FI. This seems to be a great starting point and more reliable solution to FI. I like this because like TRD the parts are engineered with help from Toyota. This all could be a setup for like a Stage II TRD performance parts option. The design of the headers are a work of art and will most likely give the best gains. But that intake is intriguing.

Very strange that the GRMN 86 doesn't have a factory oil cooler. Engine is not that different and given the higher rpm range it should also generate high oil temperatures.

Maybe we are too sensitive with our car's oil temperatures ...

I read somewhere that some modern engine has high idle temperature cuz it's suppose to be "fuel efficient", hope someone can explain cuz I didn't google on this...xD

But It's really a different engine for GRMN right? O.o Since most of the moving parts in that went though low friction/light weigh treatment already.
